On NEC projects, commercial entitlement and contract administration are inseparable.
It is not enough to identify that something changed and calculate what it cost.
You also need to consider:
• Was the event notified correctly?
• Was it notified within the required timescale?
• Was an instruction actually given?
• Has an Early Warning been issued where appropriate?
• Has the compensation event procedure been followed?
• Do the records demonstrate cause and effect?
We regularly see considerable effort spent building up the value of a claim before anyone has properly established the contractual route to entitlement.
That is the wrong way round.
Establish entitlement first. Value second.
Good contract administration during the works is considerably cheaper than trying to reconstruct it during a dispute.

We’re pleased to welcome Damien Manners to the Cantidad team.

Damien joins us on a 12-month placement, spending every Wednesday with the team alongside his studies towards a T Level, in conjunction with Heart of Yorkshire Education Group
The placement will give Damien the opportunity to gain practical experience within a professional consultancy environment, working alongside our team and developing an understanding of the construction and commercial management profession.

Supporting the next generation of construction professionals is something we’re keen to continue developing at Cantidad, and we’re looking forward to helping Damien build his knowledge, confidence and practical experience over the coming year.

The office elf has been at it again… and this time he’s rolled out the big guns for Ibby! 🧝‍♂️❄️

Ibby arrived to find his desk transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with fake snow, cotton-ball snowballs, and a sign reading “Snow good to have you on the team!” ☃️👏

Festive, frosty, and just a little mischievous… we think this one was done with love.🎄😅
