* Silent Auction Fundraiser *

We are holding a silent auction on the Ysgol Cei Newydd’s page from the end of today until midnight on Wednesday 15th July, 2026.

Please see the attached list of exciting and diverse auction items.

We have been very fortunate in receiving over 20 items for our auction. We would like to thank the parents, staff, local businesses and Friends of Ysgol Cei Newydd for finding/donating items towards the auction to make it a successful one.

To place a bid please email [email protected].

We will ONLY accept bids made in this way. Remember to include a name, contact number, auction item number and the bid offer in your message/email.

You are welcome to contact the school (using the auction email above) if you would like more information about an auction item.

Bidders will be updated on the highest bid for each item at regular intervals throughout the auction. If you are the highest bidder at the end of the auction, we will inform you by email / phone call.

Payment will need to be paid promptly, within 48 hours, by cash or BACS (bank details will be shared at the end of the auction). If payment is not made, the next highest bidder will be offered the item.

Reserve prices are in place so please bid generously.

🌞 Stay Hydrated & Stay Safe on the Coast 🌊

With warm weather arriving, it’s important to look after yourself and your family when visiting the coast.

💧 Keep Hydrated

* Bring plenty of water with you and drink regularly throughout the day.
* Don’t wait until you feel thirsty – by then, you may already be dehydrated.
* Take extra care with children, older people, and pets, who can be more affected by the heat.

⚠️ Coastal Safety Tips

* Check tide times before heading out and be aware of rapidly rising tides.
* Stay well back from cliff edges and avoid walking beneath unstable cliffs.
* Never enter the sea alone and only swim where it is safe to do so.
* Be aware of rip currents and strong currents, which can occur even on calm-looking days.
* If you’re using inflatables, remember they can quickly be blown offshore by even light winds.
* Wear suitable footwear on rocks, slipways, and coastal paths.

🚨 In an Emergency
If you see someone in difficulty at the coast, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard. Do not enter the water to attempt a rescue yourself. Instead, look for something that can be thrown or extended to help them from a safe position.

Following on from our video this morning…
After a lovely swim in the sea on New Quay beach, what better way to chill out, than a delicious lunch at The Blue Bell Deli&Bistro.
Overlooking New Quay harbour, with fabulous views, we even had dolphins leaping out of the sea amongst the moored boats! 🐬🐬 Incredible 🤩
There are so many lovely restaurants, pubs, cafes, chip shops, ice cream sellers in New Quay… and we highly recommend the Blue Bell.
Lovely food, service and incredible views!
