Did someone mention Christmas!!!

Feel free to come along to our Christmas Fayre at The Watermill on Saturday 30th November

There will be plenty of things on offer and plenty to eat, so come and try to win a prize and fill your belly at the same time 😋

All money raised will go towards our residents donation funds

During Harvest Festival The Water Mill Day Centre kindly asked if anyone would like to make a donation to our local food bank. The donations were made from service users, family and staff at the day centre.

Yesterday, we took the donations to our local food bank at Pelsall Methodist Church. The food bank there is supported by The Trussell Trust.
When speaking to the team they were very grateful of the donation and explained that they are low at the moment with donations as at present it seems quite a few people are struggling.

It is nice to know that our donation will really make a difference and we are looking to send another donation in soon to help support the food bank.

If anyone would like to donate the team explained there is a shortage on the following items but do appreciate all donations

Long life fruit juices and milk
Tinned potatoes, fruit, tomatoes, fish and spaghetti
Biscuits and cereals
Razors
Washing pods/tablets
Toilet rolls
Washing up liquid
Shampoo

If you would like to make a donation you can make it straight to Pelsall Methodist Church or to The Water Mill Day Centre. The church is open Tuesdays 11am-1pm and Fridays 1pm-3pm

Every month a day centre staff member picks a theme to create so this month for August it was The Water Mill Bake Off! All of the service users had fun making cakes and bread and enjoyed themselves even more when they were eating it all 🍞🍪🧁🍫😁

Dementia Action Week is running from 15th-21st May by Alzheimer's Society

Dementia Action Week is an awareness raising campaign. Each year, we work with individuals and organisations across the UK to encourage people to ‘act on dementia’.

In 2022, Dementia Action Week encouraged people who are concerned that they or someone they know may be experiencing dementia symptoms to seek further help. We provided information on memory loss, advice on talking to the GP, and ways to cope with memory loss.

The focus for 2023 will be the same as 2022 as Increasing diagnosis rates is such an important issue.

If you have any concerns for yourself or a loved one, there are details on the poster to contact Alzheimer's Society for support.

We need to 'act on Dementia' and raise as much awareness as possible to help support those living with Dementia ❤️
