One driver in Spain this week and one driver out. 🚛🇪🇸🇬🇧

A bit like a relay race, except there are no medals, considerably more diesel fumes, and the baton is an 85 cubic metre trailer.

The two trucks passed each other earlier in the week somewhere along the route through France. A quick wave, a flash of the headlights, and probably a discussion about where to find the least disappointing coffee in Europe ☕😅

Fast forward a few days and one truck is now back in the UK, while the other is parked up in Barcelona getting ready for the next chapter of its journey.

One trailer heading north, one heading south. Families moving to Spain, families returning to the UK, and us somewhere in the middle trying to remember what country each truck is actually in.

Just another week keeping household goods moving between the UK and Spain.

And people wonder why we spend so much time looking at maps... 🗺️🚛

We’re looking for a Class 1 (C+E) driver to join our transport division at Ambrose Logistics.

* Mainly UK tramping, with occasional European trips available for suitable drivers
* Fridge, Box, or curtainsider work
* Weekend work available for those who want it
* Minimum 1 year Class 1 experience required

We operate throughout the UK and Europe with a varied workload including temperature-controlled transport, port work, general haulage and international removals. This is a full-time position with regular ongoing work for the right candidate.

Meanwhile, at the other end of the continent... 🚛🇪🇸

While one truck was busy making its way from Cornwall to the Isle of Lewis, our double-man team was heading in completely the opposite direction. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿⏪️⏪️

After a short battle with customs, they finally made their way south to the Córdoba area to deliver a large household move for a lovely couple we've been in contact with for quite some time.

Moving to Spain isn't usually an overnight decision. We've spoken to some clients for months, sometimes years, while they search for the right property, the right location, and the right time to make the leap.

So it's always particularly satisfying when it finally comes together.

This move was delivered via tranship, helping us get everything exactly where it needed to be as efficiently as possible.

A big shoutout to the team at Storage Depot Manilva for their excellent assistance and support throughout. It's always appreciated when good people help make a job run smoothly 👏

We're delighted our clients have finally found their dream home and wish them every happiness in their new life under the Spanish sun ☀️

Thanks for all the guesses on yesterday's post! 👏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Quite a few of you were very close.

In fairness, the clue may have been a little misleading. There are actually a few longer routes you can do within the UK, especially one very well-known one that several of you pointed out 😅

Our move took us from Cornwall to the Isle of Lewis 🚛

I'll be honest, before this job I didn't know a great deal about the island. Since then, I've spent a bit of time looking into it and have found it absolutely fascinating. The scenery looks incredible, the history is amazing, and it's definitely somewhere I'd like to visit properly one day.

It's one of those places that reminds you just how diverse the UK really is. One minute you're loading a removal in Cornwall, the next you're boarding ferries and heading towards some of the most remote and beautiful landscapes in the country.

A huge thank you to the crews in both Cornwall and the Isle of Lewis for their help and assistance with the loading and unloading. Jobs like these are always a team effort and everything went smoothly from start to finish 👍

Now, after a journey involving enough miles to make the sat nav question its life choices, it's time for the truck to head off on its next adventure 😅

Our mystery UK removal didn't attract many guesses... which is slightly disappointing because we've been quite enjoying watching people try 😅

So here's a few more clues.

The loading point is somewhere that takes its pasties very seriously.

The delivery point is somewhere that if Amazon says "next day delivery", everyone has a little chuckle.

Our driver has seen more sheep than cars.

He's used roads, ferries and probably a bit of hope and optimism to get there.

At the collection point, one wrong turn and you're in the sea.

At the delivery point, if you keep heading west you'll eventually need a bigger boat.

It's probably one of the longest domestic removals you can do in the UK without needing a passport.

Any guesses now? 🤔🚛

We'll reveal the answer soon. Assuming the driver doesn't decide to stay where he is and open a sheep farm.

This week we've got trucks scattered all over the UK and Europe, including a double-man team down in Spain keeping the miles ticking over 🚛🇪🇸

We're also completing a UK removal that has to be one of the longest point-to-point moves possible without needing a passport.

North to south? East to west? Somewhere in between?

Any guesses on the route? 🤔

Unfortunately, we can't offer a prize. Mainly because the transport manager spent the prize fund on diesel.

We'll give you a clue... the photo might help.

While you're playing detective, we'll be busy moving households, swapping trailers, answering emails, drinking too much coffee and pretending we know what day of the week it is.

Happy Hump Day! 🚛☀️

This week’s Spanish tour has been a proper road trip.🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦

Girona, Murcia, Alicante, Almeria, Malaga and Madrid. A few miles covered and a few coffees consumed along the way 😅

A full trailer into Spain and a full trailer back out. Next week those deliveries will be making their way across the UK, stretching all the way from Cornwall to Scotland.

Meanwhile, the rest of the fleet has been keeping busy across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, France and Belgium.

People often ask what a typical week looks like in logistics. Truthfully, there isn't one.

One truck is enjoying Spanish sunshine, another is crossing the Channel, and someone else is trying to remember where they left their high vis.

Just the way we like it.

A slightly different week for us this week 🚛

Vehicles in and out of Scotland, France, Spain, and a little run over to Stuttgart helping handle a move with one of our trade partners… all squeezed in between the usual Spain trips 🇬🇧🇫🇷🇩🇪🇪🇸

One minute you’re planning household goods into the Spanish sunshine, the next you’re explaining to someone why a truck driver considers a service station coffee and a warm sausage roll “living the dream” 😅

That’s the beauty of logistics though. No two weeks are ever the same.

Different countries, different jobs, different challenges… same goal every time. Keep things moving safely and smoothly.

And somehow, amongst all the miles, paperwork and phone calls, we still spend half our lives discussing the weather ☔☀️

A few weeks ago we made a post discussing a recent 2-star review we received regarding blanket fibres, which then led us into talking about the different service levels we offer 👍

So far we’ve covered:

• Owner-packed goods with blanket wrap
• Owner-packed goods with export wrap

The final popular option we offer is the Full Wrap and Pack service.

This service is ideal for busy people, clients relocating abroad, or anyone who simply wants to remove one of the most stressful parts of moving… the packing 😅

This is our premium level of service and is often subject to a survey beforehand. Once booked, all the client really needs to do is make sure there’s a reasonable level of organisation when our team arrives.

We take care of everything else.

Packing, wrapping, protection, loading, organising… the lot 🚛

All the client really needs to worry about is making sure the kettle stays on and gets packed last ☕

Of course, this level of service comes at an additional cost due to the labour, materials and time involved, so it doesn’t suit everyone.

But for many clients, especially international removals and UK to Spain moves, it takes a huge amount of stress out of the process.

The normal, the weird and the wonderful… we’ve packed it all over the years.

The only things we can’t pack are pets and husbands 😅
