A big welcome to all of our new followers; welcome to our page 🤗

We will be sharing future events on this page as well as details of meetings and memories and any other things that we feel relevant to keep our park alive.

Talking of memories, let us know what yours are. Did you visit the park on a regular basis, did you play football or tennis, attend the annual carnivals, play on the big lizzie (😬). Share it all with us, we'd really love to hear your stories 😊

What a great event in Usworth Park today to celebrate the Bowling Club’s centenary year 💯🎂🎉

Thanks go to everyone who helped out today, from The Little Onion Club, Friends of Usworth Park, and the Knitting Hinnies. Everyone played their part in making the event a success 💪

But the top honours have to go to Usworth Bowling Club, who have bounced back after the devastating fire that damaged their building. The passion shown in their games, alongside all the clubs that joined them today, was wonderful to see. So, a big thank you to Glebe and North Biddick Clubs, as well as a club from Sunderland. Let’s hope this traditional game is still being played in the park in another 100 years. Usworth Bowling Club, take a bow! 🥳🍾🥂

A massive thank you also goes to everyone that attended today, and to those who have donated prizes and money, both today and over the last few weeks, to help rebuild. We really do have some wonderful people 😊

Weather's looking kindly on us all for tomorrow's 100 years of Usworth Bowling Club celebrations.

Everyone welcome to come along and support the bowlers, buy a raffle ticket or make a donation to help the club rebuild after the devastating fire. Bowls matches start at 1:30pm

Friends of Usworth Park will also be in the park, have a chat with us about becoming a member - it's FREE or give us some ideas on what you would like to see in the park and how we can improve the park.

Within the park there is also a Community Garden Fete with a tombola, crafts and refreshments available from Little Onion Club and Knitting Hinnies.

Let's make this a celebration to remember!

Please be aware, there are no parking facilities within the park. Anyone attending an event may use the Concord car parks behind Arndale House, at Speculation Place, or opposite the Rainbow Centre, all of which are public car parks within walking distance. The car park behind the Gardeners Club is private.

The Little Onion Club have handmade crafts, free crafting activities and a showcase from Knitting Hinnies

Starts at 12pm with a bowls matches from 1:30pm.

REMINDER

Forecast, so far, for Saturday 13 June is good. Come along to the park from 12pm to support Usworth Bowling Club as they celebrate 100 years! Bowling club members will be available for a chat about their history and details on how to become a member.

Friends of Usworth Park will also be in the park, feel free to have a chat and find out what we are doing. Membership forms will be available if you would like to join us.

There is also a Community Garden Fete hosted by the The Little Onion Club.

Some of the Friends of Usworth Park had a busy morning, tidying up borders, emptying and replanting the wagons.
Park was busy this morning with bowlers and people playing tennis.
