Absolutely fantastic that this announcement has come out - it's been a long time coming and allows thousands more people to be able to design their own homes to meet their own needs.

This levels up the playing field between the Big Developers and SME Custom Builders - Big Developers have benefitted from 'help to buy' for years and now it's finally come to our sector!

It's a big step on the road to making and a mainstream choice for us all.

After a long 47 days we finally have been given a reference for our application. (Still no orange slip as they sent it to our planner/architect that lives in Wiltshire 🤦🏼‍♀️hopefully receive and put up today)

To all of you that maybe interested in a selfbuild plot (within a site of 5 sefbuilds) in Denmead, Hampshire Or if you are just interested in selfbuild in general we are asking if you could please help us by showing your support and commenting on our application. The link to do this is below.

Youll need to enter our reference 22/00722/OUT. Once you are on our application there is a tab labelled "Make a comment".

Sadly there are a few local bullies on the local page which the Chair of the Parish is admin for🤦🏼‍♀️ they are already trying to rally around to strongly oppose against our application which is fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion, we just wish they went about it in a more adult way rather than a witch hunt against us and more importantly our children (apparently our kids will be bullied at school if we get granted permission 🤷‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️) but hey-ho we always knew there would be a few Nimby's.

We have offered our site to Wi******er Council as a Pilot Scheme in the hope that they can learn a lot more about Self Builds and fingers crossed they will then implement more small self build sites like this in the future. So by commenting on the application you will not only be supporting our plots but future selfbuild plots too hopefully.

Good Evening, My husband and I own an acre of land in Denmead and are in the process of applying for planning permission for 5 self build houses. We will be keeping one of the five plots for ourselves and due to the huge amount of interest we have recieved about the remaining plots, we thought the fairest way would be to obtain any interested parties details through a website we have created just for our site.
