Retail Therapy at Our Coffee Morning!
Thank you to Lana Bags for hosting a handbag and clothing sale at the Cole Court coffee morning. Residents and visitors enjoyed browsing, with many treating themselves to a bargain or two ! It was a great addition to the morning and was greatly appreciated by everyone who attended. 😃👕👚🧦👜🎒👛

What an incredible achievement ! Well done to Cole Court's daredevil resident Linda, who decided to celebrate her upcoming 80th birthday in a most amazing way - by doing a skydive ! 🪂​🎉😄 After the first one was postponed due to bad weather, she got the adrenaline pumping at 13,000 ft once more and went for it, proving age is just a number !

Earlier this month, myself and the rest of the H21 Northamptonshire team of LHM's swapped housing management for animal management and spent the day volunteering at Animals in Need Animal Sanctuary.

Our duties included walking dogs, mucking out stables, pigsties, hedgehogs and pigeons.

A huge thank you to residents from Cole Court, Attley Court, Gloucester Court and Sir John Brown Court who donated bedding, treats, toys for us to take along too !

It was exhausting, messy but incredibly rewarding. We came away with a newfound appreciation for the amazing work the sanctuary team does every day and were grateful for the opportunity to help. We're already looking forward to the next volunteer day, although it will need to be cooler weather ! 🐶🐈🦔🦆🦃🦇

🌱 A Taste of Summer from the Vegetable Patch! 🌱
The vegetable patch is bursting with colour and fresh produce this week! 🥬✨
The lettuces are looking crisp and healthy. The runner beans are climbing high and producing a fantastic crop, while the gooseberry bushes are (hopefully) going to be laden with juicy berries just waiting to be picked, and not nibbled by the passing muntjac !
It's wonderful to see the garden thriving and enjoying the rewards of everyone's hard work. 🍃🫛🍇

⚠️The Met Office have issued an amber warning for extreme heat for much of England and Wales for this week, with temperatures potentially reaching 39°C ☀️

Generally, our bodies find it harder to adapt to more extreme temperatures as we age, and some conditions and medications can make us more susceptible to hot weather, including the high temperatures this week.

We can all help keep older people safe during heatwaves by checking in on relatives, friends, and neighbours. You could offer help to get shopping or pick up any medication.

We were celebrating with Pizza and Sausage Roll Party and a performance from Zing ! last week. One of our dear residents has moved and we were treated to a Brenda style 'knees up'! Lots of laughter, delicious food courtesy of the most generous Champion Pizza in Raunds, finished off with a great performance and singalong from Zing ! A warm community event, and we send our best wishes to Brenda and thank you for the party ! 😄🍕🍟🍗🥂🎤🎼
