Why cracks keep appearing in the same place every winter. It's not the plaster failing - it's your house moving. Cold weather shrinks everything, warm weather expands it. The cracks always come back in the same spots cuz that's where the stress is. Fill them with flexible filler, not normal polyfilla, or you'll be doing it again next year."

I have a love–hate relationship with jobs like this 🤣
This house used to be an old water mill that’s now been converted into a home 🏡 Nothing in here is straight — it’s full of character.
Unfortunately they had quite a serious leak for a while, which caused a lot of damage. Once the leak was sorted, I was asked to come in and put it right. I knocked out all the blown and damp areas and repaired everything.
You might notice the head reveal isn’t perfectly straight 😆 That’s because the lintel and wall behind were so badly out of shape I couldn’t get a bead to sit properly, so I had to freehand itand get it as close as possible. The customer said not to worry — it keeps the character of the house!
