It's here! Spring Clearing Week and today marks day one. I'm so excited! π
APDO verified Professional Organisers (like myself) all over the country are helping ladies like you to clear your clutter and achieve greater clarity this spring! πΈπΌπ»
Over the last two yearβs our physical and mental health have become more important than ever so this year we really want to help you to look more closely at the spaces you inhabit, how they make you feel and what benefits you can gain from clearing any clutter that does not serve you.
Why Spring Clearing? πΊπΉπ·
Springtime is a time of renewal and growth; the days are getting longer and many of us enjoy an increase in energy levels and have a spring in our step! Itβs a great chance to take stock of what you want to do and achieve in the coming year.
Itβs also a good time to focus on whether your environment is really helping you to achieve any goals you may have set since the beginning of the year and now when so many of us find ourselves at home more and more, a review of our immediate environment will be more valuable than ever.
My Tips on How To Get Started! β
To get you started, I want to encourage you to look at any flat surfaces in your home e.g. your kitchen worktops, your floor spaces, any tables, shelves, windowsills etc and start clearing the clutter, room by room. The best way to do this is to grab a basket or bag and clear anything that isn't a permanent fixture. Next, you need to find everything a home - and if your not sure where it should live, ask yourself where would you look for it? Or, do you actually use or need it?
Adapt any storage solutions to your needs or introduce new ones to keep items tidy and organised. Also involve the family or your partner to ensure they get onboard. You should be aiming to clear the clutter to calm your mind. Also, do it to your schedule and when you have some energy - stress isn't welcome in this process so we have to manage it accordingly!
I have cleared the clutter in my home to bring a sense of calmness and sanctuary and to me that means having clear surfaces, having a home for everything and having my favourite things on display which make me feel happy and bring me nothing but joy.
Does this inspire you to start clearing your flat surfaces to aid some calm? Let me know in the comments below!π
Tomorrow, I'll be talking about a holistic approach to decluttering so keep an eye out for my next post!
Lots of Love, Claire ###
