Evening Ladies, how are we all doing? 🌜 Is this Spring weather bringing a spring in your step? πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Is it inspiring you to clear for calm???

Well, we are on day 3 already of the clear for calm challenge and today, I want to set you a challenge.... in the form of clearing your bathroom. πŸ›€πŸ§ΌπŸ§΄

Bathrooms are typically the smallest room in our homes and can therefore become cluttered very quickly. By clearing the clutter in our bathrooms they can become a space that you can relax and rest in at the end of the day. Start clearing the clutter from any flat surfaces and then go through any cabinets or drawers. Give your bathroom a good clean and the voila!

You can also quickly transform your bathroom into a more tranquil space by decluttering and using baskets for toiletries and kids bath toys if you don't have enough cabinet space. Remember - everything should have its place / a home.

Good Luck and let me know how you get on. ###

Happy Tuesday Ladies. 🌞

It's been another beautiful Spring like day out there and today's topic as part of our 'Clear for Calm' week is all about a holistic approach to clearing clutter.

So what exactly does a 'holistic' approach to decluttering mean? Well, it's about looking at all of the different types or components of clutter which ultimately prevent us from feeling calm and at peace. The different types of clutter (which I am sure will resonate with you) are as follows:

Physical πŸ“¦ Clutter - things that you can see that are out of place

Time ⏰Clutter - an over busy, work, family & social calendar

Mental πŸ’†β€β™€οΈClutter - a busy mind - endless thoughts, analysing, ever growing to-do lists

It is proven that clutter affects our mood, behaviour and our mental health, so by taking a holistic approach to decluttering and evaluating each of these areas, it can be a form of self care and will bring calmness and a sense of freedom to your life if you start clearing all of the clutter that is affecting your being.

So, today's question is, would you benefit from some holistic decluttering in order to bring yourself some calm? I'd love to hear your thoughts below. ###

It's here! Spring Clearing Week and today marks day one. I'm so excited! πŸ˜€

APDO verified Professional Organisers (like myself) all over the country are helping ladies like you to clear your clutter and achieve greater clarity this spring! 🌸🌼🌻

Over the last two year’s our physical and mental health have become more important than ever so this year we really want to help you to look more closely at the spaces you inhabit, how they make you feel and what benefits you can gain from clearing any clutter that does not serve you.

Why Spring Clearing? 🌺🌹🌷

Springtime is a time of renewal and growth; the days are getting longer and many of us enjoy an increase in energy levels and have a spring in our step! It’s a great chance to take stock of what you want to do and achieve in the coming year.
It’s also a good time to focus on whether your environment is really helping you to achieve any goals you may have set since the beginning of the year and now when so many of us find ourselves at home more and more, a review of our immediate environment will be more valuable than ever.

My Tips on How To Get Started! ⭐

To get you started, I want to encourage you to look at any flat surfaces in your home e.g. your kitchen worktops, your floor spaces, any tables, shelves, windowsills etc and start clearing the clutter, room by room. The best way to do this is to grab a basket or bag and clear anything that isn't a permanent fixture. Next, you need to find everything a home - and if your not sure where it should live, ask yourself where would you look for it? Or, do you actually use or need it?

Adapt any storage solutions to your needs or introduce new ones to keep items tidy and organised. Also involve the family or your partner to ensure they get onboard. You should be aiming to clear the clutter to calm your mind. Also, do it to your schedule and when you have some energy - stress isn't welcome in this process so we have to manage it accordingly!

Does this inspire you to start clearing your flat surfaces to aid some calm?Β  Let me know below πŸ‘

It's time to share another transformation with you!

Today, I worked with a lovely new client πŸ₯³on her home office and airing cupboard. The space had such potential but had unfortunately become cluttered and a "dumping ground" (my clients words)..... but after 4 hours, the whole area had been transformed, decluttered and organised! πŸ’œ Everything now has a home and my client has a beautiful office to help inspire her again.

It is amazing what you can achieve in half a day with some friendly, professional, help, support and encouragement.

Happy Tuesday Peeps!🌞

Well, it's the start of a new week and I've been so busy lately that I haven't posted for a while so I wanted to say 'hello' πŸ™‹β€β™€οΈand also do a call out for all you bookworms πŸ“’πŸ› out there and offer some tips for sorting out your books.

Now, I'm not really a book worm myself (except for when I'm on holiday and then there is no stopping me) but I do have a collection of my favourite books and am also partial to a good recipe bookπŸ₯¦ which I have recently decluttered and re-organsied.

So, I wanted to ask.... when was the last time you decluttered your book collection? If it's been a while and your books have become too cluttered, here are some of my top tips on how to unclutter your books!

πŸ“– Plan & dedicate some time to doing it and stick to it.

πŸ“– Get prepared - have sorting boxes & bags at the ready - 1 for donations, 1 for books you want to sell or giveaway and 1 for recycling

πŸ“– If you have multiple areas for books - zone it! Do one zone at a time to avoid getting overwhelmed and small steps is still progress!

πŸ“– Categorise your books e.g. recipe books, fiction, visual etc

πŸ“– Go about choosing your favourite books first i.e. those that you absolutely love and that you do not want to part with. You can do this by picking up each book and reflecting on how you feel about that book. If it makes you happy and you feel a spark, it's a keeper!

πŸ“– To help you decide on what to do with your other books, ask yourself, have you read it before - if yes, will you honestly read it again or can someone else enjoy it now? If the answer is no - why not and are you really likely to? It's ok to let go of books you haven't even read yet- even if it was a gift! Donating books also helps parting with books easier by knowing they are going to a good cause and will be bought by someone that wants to read them!

πŸ“– Live by the space you have available i.e. if you only have room for 1 book shelf - only have 1 shelf of books! Setting limits is good decluttering practice.

πŸ“– Don't forget children's book's - use the same principals including age ranges for kids books.
By decluttering your books, you will rediscover those little treasures again, be creating more space in your home as well as giving your old books a lease of life - either by donating or selling them.
