There’s something deeply fulfilling about staging a home where every detail has been thoughtfully considered.

From the paint palette to the lighting, right down to the hardware finishes - and those beautiful high ceilings! This spacious and airy 2-bed garden flat was such a joy to work on. When the bones and finishes are this strong, staging becomes about enhancing what’s already exceptional rather than disguising anything.

Unsurprisingly, the client behind this project is an interior designer, and it shows. The result is a home that feels calm, elegant, and effortlessly refined.

Pantone recently announced Cloud Dancer as the 2026 Colour of the Year. It is described as “a whisper of serenity” and “a calming influence” and I suppose this is my own interpretation of it.

As some of you know, I’ve been in the middle of an extension and a near full refurb at home. It’s been equal parts fun and stressful, but watching each layer of the vision come to life has been one of the most exciting and satisfying feelings.

A little ode to my version of Cloud Dancer - soft, airy, grounded. Limewashed walls, natural textures, warm clay tones, and a hint of rugged, earthy imperfection. The kind of space, I think, that feels cosy, lived-in, and quietly uplifting.

Not everything is finished yet, but standing here, it really does feel like I’m dancing on clouds.

We staged this gorgeous flat, it launched on Friday, and by the weekend it already had 3 viewings and 2 second viewings lined up (not surprising because she’s a stunner!)

I love a neutral wall as a backdrop and often suggest repainting to our clients especially when a space needs refreshing. But in this case, I was challenged - the blue and violet walls were freshly painted and here to stay.

When a property already has personality, we work with it. For this stage, I embraced the colour and layered in textures and warm tones to create harmony instead of contrast.

A side note, this property was staged in 2 hours! Probably the quickest stage we’ve ever done, and boy was I glad after a full week of 3 stages and 1 destage.

In some of my staging projects, you’ll spot small nods to my Malaysian roots 1) a tudung saji, the food cover found in most Asian homes featured in our most recent stage; and 2) a sepak takraw ball, the handwoven rattan ball once used by kids across Southeast Asia for a game of foot volleyball featured in several of our projects.

Both simple, everyday objects that reminds me of home. I love finding ways to weave a little bit of home into the spaces I create.

It’s never too late to stage your property, even if it’s already on the market!

In this case, our client reached out for us to stage their property after a few initial viewings. Their estate agent suggested staging after receiving feedback from viewings and the feedback proved invaluable. When sellers approach us after listing, we usually always ask for their agent’s insights first. It is important working with agents who provide you with feedback after each viewing because without it, you won’t know what to improve to capture more buyer interest.

This one feels extra special because it was staged on my birthday and it turned out beautifully! It’s always rewarding to see how staging transforms a blank canvas into a warm, inviting home that buyers can actually imagine themselves in.

I’m so happy to see that staging is becoming more recognised as a powerful marketing tool in the UK when selling but hopefully on my next birthday I’ll be sipping a drink in the sunshine rather than moving sofas around 😅

Which photo would make you want to book a viewing?

That “before” photo isn’t selling anyone a dream. It’s just four walls, a sofa, work space and some curtains. Functional? Sure. Inspiring? Not so much.

The “after” is where the magic happens - buyers can instantly see the lifestyle: the cosy evenings, the dinners with friends, the space that feels intentional.

Staging isn’t fluff, it’s strategy. It’s what makes someone scroll past.. or stop and book a viewing.
