This week I'm busy supervising the humans who are splitting (lots of) logs....it's not the most scintillating of my supervisory jobs and it's hard to snooze as the log splitter is rather noisy but someone has to keep an eye on them! Many woofs Milo x

The hoomans have asked me to pass on cottage availability dates just in case you or any of your doggy friends, who aren't World Cup crazy, might be tempted to find a footy free location in the next few weeks.

Red Kite Cottage is currently available from June 5-12, June 19-26 and June 26-July 10. Kingfisher Cottage is currently available from June 20-27, June 27-July 4 and July 4-18.

With toasty temperatures we headed for the coolest and shadiest part of the garden this week - the end of the bog garden. Adrian knocked in some fence posts along the boundary and we've used the smaller branches from the trees which were felled in November to create our first dead hedge. Milo's supervision evidently involved some lying in muddy, sawdusty patches (again)!

With the weather forecast predicting toasty temperatures, we thought it only right that we should complete one of our favourite wanders from Wiseman's Bridge to Saundersfoot to check the footpath sniffs, the beaches, the incredible views (plus a bit of quality control on ice cream supplies might have happened too!). Suffice to say everything exceeded expectations so we're ready for the summer season!

The clearing up of the ash tree felling zone at the top of the garden...a long-term project...

A lot of wood has been extracted (hindered somewhat by Milo who decided to bring logs back from the river onto the bank where Adrian was tossing them into the river), we've created two more bug hotels and have cut some more legs for benches and Milo has just completed his inspection of the newly acquired fence posts which will hopefully form the structure for a dead hedge at the end of the bog garden.

It was sad to see more poorly ash trees felled in the top of the garden last November but the increased light levels have made such a difference to the quantity of flowers on the shrubs....a riot of colour (and even some flowers for Milo to hide behind!)
