So lovely to have these City Commons with all their diverse wildlife literally on our doorstep! 🙂

May sparks the arrival of the common cockchafer or 'May Bug'.

These big beetles are easily spotted at dusk around the Commons and are attracted to lights and if you listen out you can hear the characteristic buzzing sound on warm evenings.

Can you help after a man died on the A22 at Whyteleafe last night?

We were called at 10:11pm to the Godstone Road junction with Hillside Road.

Road closures are expected to be in place overnight to allow a thorough investigation to take place.

Anyone with information or Dashcam footage that could assist our enquiries is asked to call Surrey Police on 101 (999 in an emergency) quoting PR/ 45200003550.

We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Godstone this morning (1 December).
The incident occurred on the A22 Godstone Hill around 7.10am after a blue Ford C-Max collided with the central reservation.
The male driver has been taken to hospital with serious injuries. The female passenger has also been taken to hospital but her injuries are not believed to be serious.
The northbound carriageway is closed while we deal with the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the collision, or with any other information, is asked to contact us on 101, quoting incident reference PR/P19278680.

Today's traffic on the A22 was caused by roadworks to repair a burst water main by the Whyteleafe roundabout. These are complete and so the journey home should be back to normal!
