It is a basic rule for all investors.

Does everybody follow it? We are not sure, but we do.

Investing in property was the first step then in the last 18 months we invest in managed funds and other things too.

Our change of thinking and investment strategy have changed our life which we are grateful for. 🙏

This allowed me (Gabor Voros) to leave corporate job within a year!

The investment in managed funds for us is the so called "Golden Egg"!

Tiling houses externally?! Yes, these are a few example of traditional Portuguese architecture below. 🏠

Facades tiled with glazed, ceramic tiles called “azulejos” are an important element of urban architecture in Portugal. Why?

These tiles not only have a decorative function, but they are also of practical importance, because they protect the walls against the humid maritime climate. ⛈

Deeply embedded in Portugal’s history and culture, there are countless wonderful examples of these beautiful tiles.

We took the photos in Aveiro a few days ago where buildings reflects the Art Nouveau and Art Deco style which were widely used between 1904 and 1920.

What is one lesson you learned last year ?!

Ours is the following: we should have DIVERSIFIED earlier. ✅
It does not mean we did not do it at all but not enough.

We have been running our property portfolio for over 4 years which allowed my partner to leave her corporate job in 2018. We had plans for 2020/21 to do developments on small plots up to 9 units. However, it became a “Mission Impossible”…

We changed our focus towards PASSIVE income as we realised we need another income source in order to achieve my target: getting me out of full-time employment.

Perhaps at this point it will no longer surprise you that the opportunity arose. We have been investing in managed funds and after – only – one year I quit my job! Bingo! 🎉

Only the property investment could not allow me to do so due to Covid19 and other factors beyond our control.

Last year taught us a lesson: do not put all eggs in one basket!
Furthermore, it is vital if you think out of the box. 🤔

Now we are investing safely and profitably. 💲

Property meetings are not only about the serious "stuff".

There was a Xmas Jumper competition at Asana Northwest Property Network Meeting last night. The best was awarded!

It was nice to meet property fellows face-to-face again near Bolton.

We met new investors too and we enjoyed being with likeminded people. ... and having mince pie. :-)

We did the "extra mile" to catch up with our property friend, Jonathan Stobbs from Leading Homes. It was on the last day on of our pleasure/business trip in Newquay over 300 miles from home. We could not choose any better venue than the Winnick Lodge not far from Fistral Beach. It is amazing how our journeys taken a turn during lockdown and how we could work together in the near future. The distance is not any issue if you are on the same page. 🙂

The rip-out is the dirtiest job?! A refurb project has started in one of our properties in Wigan. This house has been running as a mini HMO (3 bedroom) since 2016.

However, we have considered to use it as a single BTL after a light refurb. In the meantime, an investor approached us in our network, showed him and his partner the house. We agreed on R2R deal (guaranteed rent) recently. The company will use the property for SA.
