This is why I do what I do now …
I first came across home staging 20 years ago when I lived in New York. I was interested and the idea stayed in the back of my mind.
Then later, when living in Sydney, we experienced it for ourselves. We were selling a property that had been recently vacated by a tenant - our agent suggested we furnish and style it. We hesitated as the cost felt like a risk, but we went ahead and it worked - a quick sale at a good price.
But things really clicked when I was selling a house in Wi******er. The tenant left and so once again I was selling an empty property. The agent felt it would be fine to list it like this, in my heart I knew better! After 6 weeks and very little interest I woke up one morning and decided - it had to be furnished. A hectic weekend followed as we styled the house ourselves. Just 5 days later we had an offer from buyers able to proceed quickly.
And that is why I do what I do now - because I’ve experienced first hand what a difference home staging makes.

Selling a home in Wi******er should be easy.

As a city it has everything going for it (I maybe a bit biased as I live here!)

But some home owners take this for granted and forget to think about presentation. A home has to appeal to the buyer and as a home stager I have lots of tips and tricks to make this happen.

The first step is a chat with me - I would love to hear about the home you are selling in 2026 and maybe I can help. DM me to get the ball rolling.

The other day I read something that really spoke to me, it came in an email from Liv and was one of her '6 Truths about Home staging in 2026'.
The comment was that small boutique businesses will do well because they offer 'Ease, Speed and Care' - and I thought "That's Me"!
At Wykeham Home Styling we make life easier for our clients because we are local and we solve their presentation problems. We can be speedy because we don't require long lead times and we really, really care about our clients and achieving great outcomes for them.
If this sounds appealing, you are thinking of selling in 2026 and live in Hampshire or the surrounds then do please get in touch for a chat.

Welcome 2026 and Happy New Year!
As another year begins I wanted to say thank you for all the conversations, collaborations and confidences that were placed in me in 2025. I count myself lucky to work around Wi******er and the beautiful county of Hampshire.
Growing a business like Wykeham Home Styling requires the support of many and my family and friends are ever generous in giving their listening time and advice. So thank you to them!
2026 promises to be an exciting one for the business - and I’m excited to help transform properties so that more home owners can move onto their own new chapters.
Happy New Year and Best wishes for 2026!

2025 was quite the year for Wykeham Home Styling. It’s been busy and fun and I’ve learnt a lot! I gave the business a clearer identity by defining my offering with help from some amazing women: - Thank you ladies!
I staged some amazing properties, met some great people and I’m looking forward to more of the same!
I kept to daily routines like walking my dogs in beautiful Wi******er. I was lucky to make a trip to our second home - Sydney - and also spend time in my first home - Sark.
I faced two main challenges with the business. ‘Selling’ my service to potential clients was daunting. I found a way to manage my approach by being well versed in the property and taking cookies to meetings!
The second challenge was social media - I love posting especially on Instagram but found it hard to reach and connect with my clients. Definitely a goal for 2026.
Next year I’m looking forward to meeting many more of you, continuing to make strong relationships with Estate Agents, Property Developers and Home Owners.
I can’t wait to stage and style more homes that achieve timely sales at enviable prices. 2026 here we come!

CREAM ON CREAM — WHY NEUTRALS SELL HOMES

A lot of people think a cream room is a bit boring but
neutrals are a strong way to go when styling a home for sale. It's a good strategy because it enables viewers to project themselves into the space and imagine themselves living there.

This Living room Mood Board is a perfect example. The room I was styling had cream walls and cream marble floor - it felt a bit cold and flat. I usually like to add some colour pops with cushions and throws but in this case I used textures instead to make the room warmer, more welcoming and viewer friendly.

Here’s what I added to soften the room without using colour:

✨ A textured rug to soften the marble and draw the seating area together
✨ Tactile cushions (fluffy and velvet mixed)
✨ Wood + Ceramic accessories such as candlesticks
✨ Low table and standard lamps to negate overhead glare

If you were staging this room…
👉 Would you keep it tonal?
👉 Or would you add pops of colour?
I'd love to know what you would do ↓

I've heard from Estate agents that many buyers don't want a 'project' anymore - they want to walk into a home that feels move-in ready

The thing is that often the home doesn't need major work - but tired, dated or cluttered rooms can give this impression.

This is where Home Staging can make a huge difference - You have to ask - if buyers don't like a 'project' then why leave a home looking like one?

Art work in a staging project is non-negotiable!

It's essential for bringing character to blank walls and helping to create the wow factor.

But often home owners are concerned that removing the art could damage walls.

Here's is a trick of the trade - the incredible strips that have revolutionised the hanging process!
