A slightly different view today...
This is Loughrigg Tarn, a few miles north west of Lake Windermere. It is surrounded by some delightful hikes, especially at this time of year to take in all the autumnal scenery π
Here are a couple of nice options:
1. Loughrigg Tarn Circular Walk: This is the most obvious choice. The circular walk around Loughrigg Tarn offers stunning views and is a relatively easy walk suitable for all skill levels. The calm waters and the reflections of the surrounding fells make it a picturesque hike.
2. Loughrigg Fell: If you're up for a bit more of a challenge, you can extend your hike to Loughrigg Fell. The ascent is rewarded with panoramic views of Lake Windermere, Grasmere, Rydal Water, and beyond. It's a great spot for a picnic with a view.
3. Rydal Caves Walk: Starting from Rydal, this walk takes you past Rydal Water and through beautiful woodlands. You'll encounter the enchanting Rydal Caves along the way. This walk offers both natural beauty and historical intrigue.
4. Silver How: This is a slightly more strenuous hike that provides some breathtaking views of the Langdale Pikes, Grasmere, and more. The route begins from the Grasmere end of Loughrigg Tarn.
Each of these hikes offers a unique experience and a chance to soak in the natural beauty of the Lake District.
