Great care was taken in creating a standout fireplace, fitting handmade bricks around the existing chimney stack, installing a concrete hearth and making the space ready for a new wood burner. A feature wall was then created at the other end of the living space mirroring the chimney breast. After completing this stunning focal point, we installed spot lighting to highlight the beautiful brick work.

We couldn't be prouder of our stunning conversion of a redundant outbuilding to a bungalow, to be used as a holiday let. The building was stripped out to a shell and reconstructed.

The open oblong space was divided to create a kitchen, shower room, double bedroom and lounge diner.

Duncan handmade many of the interior features including a 5-metre wall unit which includes book shelving, storage, a TV space and two single concealed drop-down beds. This brilliant space saving option allows increased occupancy when needed.

The building has oak floors throughout and handmade fitted wardrobes.

We take pride in our attention to detail at Anglian Craftsmen and this feature wall is a great example of that. After creating this stunning focal point, we installed spot lighting to highlight the beautiful brick work. This not only looks fantastic, it also helps to change the ambience of the room, adding warmth by reflecting a warm glow from the bricks back on to the white walls and neutral floor tiles. This before and after shot taken in Duncan's home gives you a glimpse of the work that goes into creating a beautifully smooth surface. There were lots of cracks in the plaster so we took it right back before applying plasterboard with dry wall lining adhesive. It's a really quick process and gives a great result. This curved driveway at a house in Colchester was created in several stages. First granite sets were put in place to mark out the drive area and this was followed by a concrete screed.
