Welcome to The Old Bank House!

We’re a family-run venue with a real passion for history and the paranormal. After falling completely in love with the building while renting it from Linzi, we knew we had to step in and keep its doors open. Today, running the place is an absolute dream—we love nothing more than welcoming guests, sharing a brew, and hearing your own experiences and ghost stories (and if we end up chatting your ears off, we can only apologise in advance!).

Our main priority has always been to keep The Old Bank House accessible and affordable so that everyone can come and investigate.
What to Expect During Your Visit
Affordable Private Hire: Hire the entire venue privately for 1 to 15 people, with rates ranging from £50 to £150.

Complimentary Refreshments & Wi-Fi: Hot and cold drinks, a selection of snacks, and Wi-Fi are all included with your booking.

Paranormal Equipment Available: If you need any ghost-hunting gear, you are more than welcome to borrow our equipment during your investigation.

Fully Interactive Experience: Unlike a traditional museum, nothing here is locked away behind glass. You are welcome to touch, hold, and interact with all the vintage items and artifacts throughout the building.

Explore the Building
We’ve carefully themed the floors to reflect authentic local history:
1st Floor — The Victorian Banker’s Home: Explore the atmospheric setting of a late 19th-century bank manager's living quarters.
Top Floor — The Miner’s Flat: Wombwell is a proud coal mining town—in fact, the mining industry is the whole reason the bank was built here in the first place! Our top floor is dedicated to that heritage, styled as a period miner’s flat.

Has anyone taken the doll who talked when she was moved by accident?
If so can you message me and we can arrange for her to come back, I know things happen when it’s late and you’re tired etc.

People called her Zombie doll, we have narrowed it down to 2 nights it could have been taken and we are going to have to look through all the footage 🤣
