I think there are many reasons why shared living has a positive impact. But this point in particular stuck with me.
🏠
Not everyone has two incomes helping pay the bills.
🏠
And I think sometimes when we automatically oppose all shared housing or HMOs, we forget who often struggles the most with housing affordability… single people.
🏠
Young workers. People relocating. People starting again after divorce. People rebuilding their lives. People trying to save for their own place.
🏠
A couple on two incomes can often compete for housing far easier than one person paying for everything alone.
🏠
That doesn’t mean all HMOs are good but I do think professionally run co-living can and does play a really important role in providing affordable housing options for people who otherwise may struggle to live independently.
🏠
Id also like to say that this point was something i discussed with (or vann discredit with me more like 😅) who i respect as an expert in the hmo field and by raising and sharing these points im hopeful we can slowly give hmos a better name.

When most people hear the term HMO they often picture the very worst examples of emergency or crisis accommodation.
🏠
But should all HMOs really be grouped together under one label?
🏠
Because a professional co-living space for working people is very different to emergency housing or crisis accommodation… yet publicly they’re often discussed as if they’re the same thing.
🏠
If we could, should there be a different planning class or label for HMOs specifically used for emergency/crisis housing so the public can better differentiate between them?
🏠
Genuine question and maybe wouldnt work but interested to hear people’s thoughts

The goal was always to create more time. Time to go where we want when we want with you want and I think we are finally starting to see our lives changing.
🏠
We don't have to ask for anyone's permission for time off and that reallly is an amazing feeling.

Walk through almost any town in the U.K and just look up.
🏠
So many upper floors sitting empty while everyone talks about a housing crisis.
🏠
We’ve spent the last few years trying to bring spaces like this back to life here in Wrexham… but honestly, small developers like us are fighting an uphill battle.
🏠
Planning delays, a broken system and too much red tape Regulations that waste so much time and money.
🏠
The demand is already here.
The buildings are already here.
The infrastructure is already here.
🏠
A lot of these spaces could become homes, offices, studios, cafés… almost anything other than dark empty rooms gathering dust above our high streets.
Should empty upper floors become homes

Part 2 is going to get interesting… 👀
🏠
We recently started exploring underneath one of our buildings in Wrexham…the s**t we found down there 🤯
Property investing can get boring at times so we do like to try and make it more fun.
🏠
The building itself is over 200 years old and sits on one of the oldest residential streets in Wrexham, surrounded by history. Locals have always talked about the old tunnels underneath Wrexham… and after hearing how hollow parts of this cellar sounded, we had to investigate for ourselves.
🏠
Old bottles, strange metal boxes, blocked-up brickwork… and this is only Part 1.
🏠
Follow us for Part 2 because we’re opening the box and breaking through the brick next… 👀

We finally hit 10,000 followers.
🏠
We've been posting since 2019 and always had a love hate relationship with social media, I like yo say we been consistently inconsistent.
🏠
But we hope to continue to grow our account and the amount of people that weve met and the opportunities that have come our way just by sharing our little story has been amazing.
🏠
So thanks for following it is much appreciated 👏

Just sharing what you do and why can create so much opportunity not everyone needs to be selling something.
