Some people will look at this picture and see me working instead of spending time with my family.

And they'd be right. For about an hour.

What they don't see is that a few years ago I'd have been spending 12 hours away from them working in a factory. 48 hours a week away from them. Not including any overtime.

That hour on the laptop is part of the reason we can travel, leave the country for weeks at a time and I can still run the business from wherever we are.

More importantly, I don't have to ask someone else's permission to do it.

I used to think freedom meant not having to work.
Now I think it's having control over when, where and how you work.

I'll take the hour.
