Peaceful, quiet and homely yet only mins from the city centre. 19th-century brickwork, high-end specs, super-comfy beds & spotlessly clean! We create stylish apartments in the city centre. Some call them ‘bespoke’, but we prefer ‘homely and elegant’. Somewhere to comfortably relax in peace and quiet before exploring the delights of one of the top UK destinations, recently voted by Sunday Times rea
ders as the ‘Best Place To Live’. Oh, and a great night’s sleep, “Most comfortable bed we have slept in for ages, almost took it home” (J&V). Cocoa Isabella Is a stylish one-bed ground floor studio right on the river (bring your rod!) in York’s most historic industrial building, Rowntree Wharf, built-in 1860 and originally one of the largest flour-rolling mills in Europe. Cocoa Lily is an elegant studio but not your average one-room space. Leather sofa, super-comfy bed, writing desk and dining table, high-end quartz-topped kitchen area and, yes, straight on to the river. Just like Isabella you can perch on the window seat and watch the river - and the otters - go by. You’ll think you can reach out and dabble your hands...
Cocoa River is a first-floor two-bedroom apartment (both en suite) served by a lift and overlooking the courtyard and river. Always 5* reviews, like the other two apartments you couldn’t be more quiet and peaceful yet only minutes from the centre. All the apartments have coffee machines and a supply of pods to get you going. Easy to access to all from major routes, once again you get straight here. The apartments come with a free, allocated and secure parking spot - no picking your way through fiddly side streets, it's on-site. Enjoy an elegant mix of cool and comfort with original 19th-century brickwork. All three are newly decorated and high spec including QLED TV, king-size bed, free wi-fi, modern quartz worktop kitchen with high-end appliances. And yes, in Cocoa Isabella, those are genuine traffic lights from a Chicago street corner in the '50s. You simply won’t believe you’re only a few minutes from the city centre, combining 'loft'-style living with sophistication. As well as being only minutes away from the city centre in one direction with three miles of walkable mediaeval walls, York Minster, The Shambles, Clifford's Tower, The Jorvik Centre, pretty much everything really as well as award-winning independent restaurants, cafes and bars sitting side by side with the national chains giving the visitor unprecedented choice within such a close-knit area. And major supermarkets (Waitrose, Morrisons, Lidl) are two minutes in the other direction - and no need for transport, it's all very walkable! You'll look out on to The River Foss which has it's own 'Appreciation Society' that tends to and cleans this peaceful waterway which, in earlier years, was used to transport newsprint, raw materials for Rowntrees and grain for the mill.
“It’s no wonder Stay Central York’s spaces are rapidly gaining a reputation for affordable comfort, location and a good night’s sleep”.
