This Friday!
Come join us for the final group of poetry readings from our recent poetry competition with the special twist of musicial accompaniment with a jazz trio! Selections of the readings will be made by the musicians for our poetry book 'music edition' that will be launched in the Autumn with a full performance! OFFICE CLOSED - As of Thursday 28th March I have retired. I will have worked in the licensed trade since the mid-1980's and what changes there have been during those years. When I started there were six main brewers that owned the pubs which served only their beer, licensing sergeants, a break between opening times during the day and meetings in panelled boardrooms with sherry. That's all changed and will continue to move forward. My colleagues are now helping clients throughout the industry. My very best wishes to everyone who works in the licensed trade or is associated with it.

Hi All, I haven't put a post on here recently, mainly because I've been too busy. However, all that is about to change. I'll be retiring as a Chartered Surveyor on Thursday 28th March 2024. Looking forward to this one next Friday evening (3 Nov 7pm) at Woodside Food & Market Always a great crowd there. We even had a Brazilian lady there recently who loved our Jobim.

MJD HUGHES Ltd has been at the forefront of keeping pubs as pubs and broadening their use to benefit owners, staff, customers and the community.
