City sights of York 😎

Anya had a meeting in the city centre and snapped these shots on her way back to the office recently.

The sun has been shining in York for the last few days (in between rain showers) and although its been cold, it's lovely to get out and about and see some of our blocks!

Being based in York we like to make the most of our location and walk to site visits and meetings. We cover the whole Yorkshire region and always enjoy the days we can get out in to the local area.

✨Client Compliment✨

This lovely email was sent to us following some work which was undertaken at one of our almshouses.

We always work to ensure the residents are kept up to date and consulted before any works take place. We work alongside the trustees with guidance from the constitutions which stipulate how the charity is to be run. Each of the almshouses has their own constitutions and criteria for applicants; these guide us to ensure we're managing the charity and its buildings correctly.

🚤 Perusing The Ouse🚤

Anya had a family day out in York on Sunday and managed to snap these great shots of Dukes Wharf and Waterfront House from a boat they took down The River Ouse.

These are two blocks in our management which have recently undergone flood defence works to incorporate further drainage, flood defence walls and flood barriers leading to Clementthorpe. One of these blocks also benefits from moorings, as can be seen from the lovely long boat which is currently docked.

🌟 Meet Debbie 🌟

Debbie is the newest member of the Mulberry PM office team, she is a finance assistant working on all of the almshouses and a selection of blocks. Debbie has been with us for 6 months and is quickly settling into the office. In her free time Debbie loves all things arts and crafts including sewing some of her own clothes and things for her home. Previous to working in finance Debbie had a career as a newspaper journalist. She absolutely loves animals and is always very happy when our four-legged friends visit the office. 🏡 Frank Parkinson Yorkshire Trust 🏡

We took on the management of Frank Parkinson Yorkshire Trust in October 2022. Frank Parkinson Court is located in Guiseley, Leeds and consists of 44 one bedroom bungalows, ground floor and first floor flats. They provide accommodation for elderly residents who meet the Trust’s eligibility criteria. FPYT benefits from an onsite Estate Manager, Jayne who is available to support the residents with their day to day needs.

Eligibility criteria includes:
- Must be a resident of Guiseley, Yeadon or Rawdon, or must be able to evidence a strong personal and local connection to living and working in the area
- Must be of state retirement age or above
- Applicants must demonstrate that they have a housing or support need through completion of the application form and initial needs assessment.

Meet the team..

This is Katie, she is the Almshouse Coordinator here at Mulberry PM. Katie oversees the management of our 8 Almshouses which span the entire Yorkshire region. Katie has worked in the property industry for around 3 years and thoroughly enjoys having a more pastoral role in the management of our Almshouses, as well as the property maintenance side of her position. Katie has her own little dog called Lily who we’re always more than happy to have visiting us in the office. Katie loves going to gigs and is a regular attendee at her local quiz night in York. Another role Katie oversees at Mulberry PM is the mental health first aider; Katie believes it’s just as important to look after our mental health as it is our physical health, and we couldn’t agree more. Get to know Anya - Over the next few weeks we are going to be posting a lot more video content. You'll be able to get to know the people of Mulberry PM and hopefully learn a little bit about what it is we do.

Our aim is to shine a light on the leasehold industry and provide educational resources for anyone with an interest in the industry. We'll also be raising awareness of Almshouse charities as housing providers for people in need. In addition to this, we're going to be joined by some guests from external companies as we discuss how other industries and professions can work together to provide better services for our mutual clients.
