Simple structure. Thoughtful design.

This is one of our concepts we’ve been working on recently —

It's not overly complex in its construction, but carefully considered.

Two-toned cladding, clean lines, and subtle overhangs can completely change how a home feels.

You don’t always need to overcomplicate things to create something beautiful.

Good cabins are built.
Great cabins are designed.

One of the things we love most about what we do is designing interiors that reflect the people who will use the space.

Sometimes that’s a full-time home.
Sometimes it’s a quiet retreat.

And increasingly, it’s a unique place for guests to stay - something a little more special than the usual holiday let.

Our design process starts with understanding how the space needs to work, and builds from there...

Mood boards, layout, materials, kitchen design, furniture, and all the small details that make a place feel right.

Nothing off the shelf.

Just thoughtful design, tailored to you.

If you're curious about how it all comes together, we’ve shared more on our blog.

Interior design is about more than how a space looks!

Every Happynest home is purpose-built and designed around the people who’ll live in it:

--> their taste, their routines, their way of winding down.

Lighting plays a quiet but important role in that.

Soft, layered light supports mood, rhythm, and how a space feels as the day turns into evening — just like in our Cetina.

A well-designed home doesn’t just look good.
It feels right.

🔥 Log burner or electric fire in a SIPs lodge? Here’s what matters.

Fires add warmth and atmosphere — but in modern, airtight SIPs lodges, heat and air need to be carefully balanced.

Without the right design, wood-burning stoves can lead to overheating, poor air quality, and discomfort. Airtight homes don’t “self-ventilate” like older buildings.

The good news?
✨ Electric fireplaces can create just as lovely an atmosphere, without the challenges of combustion, flues, or extra air supply - especially in airtight cabins.

And if a real fire is your dream? That’s absolutely possible too.

We design for it properly - with room-sealed stoves, correct ventilation, and safe heat control.

Whatever you choose, we’ll make sure it’s done right.

The dream of “your own plot of land” is powerful.💭

Especially when you picture sunsets like this from our Floya model.
A calm view, a sliding door open to rolling landscape… it’s easy to imagine just placing a cabin on a bit of land you’ve bought and moving in.

But the planning rules don’t always match the dream.

We’ve written a clear, no-nonsense blog about what’s actually possible when it comes to living in a mobile home on your own land - and where the real opportunities do exist.

Why we love ThermoWood Ayous 🪵

It’s durable, low-maintenance, and beautifully natural.

Heat-treated for longevity without chemical preservatives.
Our two-tone cladding combines black and rich brown Ayous, factory finished with UV protection that keeps its colour and character for years.

Paired with louvre slats for passive shading and subtle contrasts in tone, this design feels calm, balanced, and beautifully crafted.

Because sustainability is about creating homes that last and respect their environment.

SIPs homes can be amazing — warm, efficient, and sustainable.
But only if they’re built to breathe. 💨

Here’s what to check before you buy 👇

✅ A proper ventilation system (MVHR) — keeps air fresh and CO₂ low
✅ A 25mm air gap behind the cladding — lets moisture escape
✅ Vertical battens — ensure constant airflow

Skip any of these, and you risk a home that feels stuffy, traps moisture, and deteriorates long before it should.

Energy efficiency isn’t just about insulation — it’s about balance.
A truly efficient home keeps both heat and air flowing.

🌿 Healthy home. Healthy you.
Save this for later if you’re researching SIPs homes!

We left the camera running after a build day… and caught something better than construction.

Sunlight + timber = pure magic. ☀️

The "Energy-Efficiency" trap - Part 1: Internal Ventilation

Let’s talk about the energy-efficiency buzz 🏡

Lately, everyone seems to be shouting about super-efficient, airtight homes...

But here’s the catch 👇
👉 Most of these “efficient” homes have no controlled ventilation.

And that’s where things go wrong.

Without proper ventilation:
🌫️ Air gets stale
⬆️ CO₂ levels rise
💧 Humidity builds up
🏚️ The structure can’t “breathe”

In summer, you’ll bake and in winter, you’ll feel foggy and tired.
And over time, your home’s health — and yours — will suffer.

No — trickle vents in windows aren’t enough.

If you’re building or buying an airtight home, you need a properly designed and fully integrated ventilation system (ideally MVHR) to keep the air fresh, humidity balanced, and heat where it belongs.

Energy efficiency is about balance between keeping warmth in and letting air flow.

Most bathrooms are full of plastic — but they don’t have to be!

In our homes, we use Hydrolock wood-based shower panels instead of plastic cladding. They’re precision-engineered boards with a realistic tile texture, completely waterproof, and free from PVC — warmer to the touch and better for the planet.

Metal fittings — brushed or stainless instead of chrome-plated plastic — and real ceramic, lasts longer and can be recycled at the end of their life.

Walls and ceilings are lined with natural fibre boards, and a rooflight floods the room with daylight — reducing the need for artificial light and making the space feel alive.

A bathroom doesn’t need to feel plasticky.
It can feel honest, tactile, and calm.🌱
