Not everything that "Glitters is Gold" .This saying applies everywhere, including the house rental business.
With the recent increase in rent some Agents have adopted a dishonest strategy, especially on TikTok. They deliberately advertise rooms at prices lower than what the Landlord is actually charging.
The result?, Wode3 Checki Hw3,.,When you come across another Agent advertising the same property at the correct price, you assume that person has added extra charges. You then contact the Agent with the cheaper price, who encourages you to inspect the property and promises that the Landlord will agree to negotiate.
Unfortunately, after you've paid the inspection fee, you discover the Landlord will not reduce the rent because the advertised price was never real in the first place.
In some cases, people even end up being scammed. Please be careful!!. There are few genuine Agents that is (1/10) now whiles the dishonest ones are many making the work difficult for everyone.
My advice is this, whenever an Agent or rental page lies, deceives or scams people, expose the page with evidence. When others share their experiences in the comments it helps warn future tenants and discourages such dishonest practices.
People who build their business on deception rarely think long-term. They may make quick money today, but in the end trust is what sustains any business and those who constantly deceive people eventually lose their reputation and disappear.
