I continue to be amazed by many tactics tenants use to negotiate rent reductions with their Landlords when we meet but what Comfort did today truly stood out to me.

I met with Comfort today to finalize the room rent with the Landlord.

Comfort, dressed in a black slit and kaba caught me off guard when she shared that she had just lost her mother...Eii 😄

We sat down with the landlord and as we were discussing the rent, Comfort started crying which prompted the landlord to inquire further.

Comfort tearfully explained her situation, stating that she was struggling to cover the bills after her mother's passing, leaving her with limited funds for rent. She humbly requested a reduction so that she could properly grieve and manage her expenses.

Just when we thought the situation couldn't get any more emotional, Comfort did the unexpected. She handed the Landlord an invitation to her mother's funeral, inviting him to attend. 😅

This gesture left the landlord speechless and deeply moved by her plea.

After the meeting as we walked away, I asked Comfort about her bold move. She confessed that her mother had actually passed away about 5years ago and she had simply edited the date on the invitation to manipulate the landlord's emotions.

We both shared a laugh at Comfort's clever tactic, in negotiating for a rent reduction.

It was a moment filled with both amusement and admiration for Comfort's quick thinking in a challenging situation. ©️ Quophi Writes...✍️
