The Decay of Marriage's Sanctity: A Call to Preserve Privacy and Integrity the public space.
In recent times, I have observed and witnessed a disturbing trend, the public display of marital issues on television, radio, and social media. This phenomenon not only undermines the moral fabric of our society but also tarnishes the sacred institution of marriage. Marriage, a union meant to be built on trust, love, and mutual respect, is being reduced to a public spectacle.
The privacy and intimacy that marriage entails are being deteriorated, as couples increasingly resort to public forums to settle scores and share personal matters.
The intimate words and private matters confined to the marital bedroom are being publicly exposed. This outrageous display extends to revealing partners' weaknesses, causing harm to the couples involved and having far reaching consequences for our collective values.
Can't the public resolution process be limited to sharing select information for educational purposes, rather than exploiting victims' marital privacy and intimacy?
As Christians and as a society, we must ask ourselves ;
what legacy are we leaving for our children and the unborn?
What signal are we sending out to the rest of the world?
Are we teaching the next generation that marriage is a disposable and public commodity, rather than a sacred and private union?
Let us reflect on our actions and consider the long-term effects on our families, community, and nation. Let us strive to preserve the dignity and integrity of marriage, and seek private resolution mechanisms that honor God and uphold the moral values we cherish.
By doing so, we can build a stronger, more compassionate society that values the sanctity of marriage and the well-being of all individuals involved.
The mind-blowing question I have for my readers is:
What has gone wrong that many marriages, most of which are "Christian marriages", encounter increasingly common challenges that can be avoided or resolved amicably ?"
God bless us all.
Regards.
