Mr President,
Labor cannot trust you on this. You put your Presidency on the line and quickly went to take it back. It is decidedly clear that you have failed in the fight against this menace.

Despite all the powers you wield under Ghana’s constitution and your love to fully assume the tag of Commander in Chief of Ghana’s Armed Forces, your demonstrable lack of political will to tackle the kind of mining that has now muddied our water bodies makes it clear to all that, you cannot do it all by yourself, and your orders to the security agencies to act, may merely be a facade.

Please listen to the specific demands from labor, civil society, identifiable groups and the owners of the land, and kindly open up in engaging all for a national conversation about this matter. This is about our life and with respect, you cannot pretend to understand the issues better than we the people whose kidneys, respiratory systems and livelihoods are being risked by a few people’s filthy desire for wealth which they would die and leave behind.

Your orders won’t douse our resolve to demonstrate and strike to shut down the entire public sector. So please meet all, listen to the demands and let us all be part of the action. Else these orders merely amount to romancing a stone. They cannot douse our resolve.

Investing in real estate is a sure way to wealth creation

Investment in Real Estate is one of the most reliable and time-tested ways of wealth creation since real estate appreciates over time.
This is so, owing to the massive housing deficit in Ghana, coupled with the needs of a growing middle class, investing in Real Estate has become a viable way to generate wealth.
According to the 2010 Housing and Population Census, there is an urgent and pressing need for decent accommodation to meet the needs of people, with the housing deficit at 2.7 million.
This means only a few people are building houses, and you can join this select few by starting small, for example, building and renting out one house at a time, and steadily progressing to two, then three to strategically create wealth over time.

LAND ACQUISITION:
When acquiring a Land, due diligence is paramount.
There are three(3) various types of land. Notably, Government Lands (also termed as Public&Vested Lands),
Stool Lands(which has the traditional Chiefs as it's custodian) and Family Lands(owned by the early settlers or a clan in a traditional area). First find out from the LANDS COMMISSION whether these lands are truly titled as professed. Note also that it's not an encroached land. It's also vital to note whether it's a Vested Land(dead owner conveyed it to Next of Kin),
Hold-in-Trust(where another person keep the land because the next of kin is a minnow (under 18years).
There is also the LAW OF LIMITATION(clause in land acquisition, where a timeline is given to visit the acquired land regularly, when not ready to develop it in the immediate. Also check from the TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING whether the location of the land is ZONED(area earmarked for future purposes). This will help to avoid future litigation.
After all this due diligence, you contact a licences surveyor a Site Plan/Indenture, which should be signed by both the licensed and the regional surveyors at the Lands Commission. Then these signed documents is sent to the Registrar at the court for the stamp/signature and issuance of the Land CertificateThis is my piece in the Land Acquisition.
