“Please, I’ll pay you next week.”

Next week comes. No payment.

Follow these three rules If you give customers credit and don’t want to hear the statement above:

1. Write down the credit details. Name, amount and date.
2. Agree on an exact payment date. Do not accept “next week.”
3. Follow up the day payment is due.

And the most important rule:

If they still owe you from last time, DO NOT GIVE MORE CREDIT.

A customer who has not paid you is holding money your business needs to grow.

Sometimes losing a sale is better than losing your money.

Consider setting aside money as savings. No business is too small to save.

Don’t wait to see what you have left at the end of the month. Take your savings out first and run the business on the rest of your money.

Even GHS 100 a day is GHS 3000 a month. By the end of the year, it can become your emergency stock money you never have when a supplier offers a good price.

Consistently save small amounts, daily, weekly or monthly and thank us later.

Your shop is busy. So where is the money?
You buy at GHS 100. You sell at GHS 150.
That looks like GHS 50 profit.
But what about:
→ Transport to restock
→ Rent
→ MoMo and bank charges
→ Airtime
→ Expired or damaged goods
→ Customers who took credit and never paid
After counting everything, your GHS 50 might be only GHS 10.

Busy is not the same as profitable.
Know your real cost before setting your price.
