*THE CONSEQUENCES OF DISOBEDIENCE*

*PARENTING*
*Open your Bible and read Proverbs 24 1-34*
We are in a difficult and a time of hardship and many parents are finding it extremely difficult to take care of their children due to financial constraint.Employment opportunities are limited whiles some abuse their rights in order to survive with their families. Some receive promises but in the end, the promise releases ‘’poison’’ of shame and embarrassment. The only real escape from our troubles, is to depend on Jesus Christ to make the way for us to overcome these misfortunes. When we turn our life over to Him and turn from our sins, addictions, and dependencies, we are freed to pursue a normal life-style with our families. Temptations will still be there, but we have God to help us resist them. God will help us to persevere despite the financial situation in which we are. Though we may be tripped up by sin or fall down many times, we will rise again to learn our lesson in Jesus Name. God is forgiving and patient with us in our failures and He is quick to help us back on our feet.
Plotting to do evil can be as wrong as doing it because what you think determines what you will do. God wants pure lives, free from sin. It is important to note that planning evil defiles the purity even if the evil has not yet been committed. Stop in your tracks and ask God to forgive you and put you on a different path. Times of trouble can be useful. They can show you who you really are, what kind of character you have developed. In addition, they can help you grow stronger. When Jeremiah questioned God because of the trouble he faced, God asked how he ever expected to face big challenges if the little ones worn him out (Jeremiah 12:5). Don’t complain about your problems. The trouble you face today is training you to be strong for the more difficult situations you will face in the future.
Good advice that can be given to a young person who leaves the home and goes out into the world is not to associate with evil people. Stay away from those who desire to live contrary to the law and in rebellion to the word of God. Evil people scheme to do evil, and therefore they will take the righteous into wickedness with them. The home of a righteous man is built with wisdom, understanding and knowledge. It is a strong home because of the relationships that are maintained among family members. A wise person is strong because he knows how to avert disaster. The abundance of his life increases as he grows in knowledge and implements good moral principles in his behaviour. Before one engages in conflict with another, through wisdom he will access knowledge as much as possible of the situation and his enemy compared. Enemies are always over desirous to win but they end up losers. Amen. ‘’To be continued.’’
*PRAYER POINT: Pray for God’s guidance and protection upon your children and the family.*
