On Wednesday 14th of July, the 4th Alwani Painting Competition took place. After two years, due to the pandemic, the Alwani Summer Arts Exhibition 2021 has opened at the Fine Arts Gallery

34 artists have contributed with 54 works of art in this exhibition.

The first prize winner was Javier Plata, from La Linea, who received the top prize of £5,000 with "Las Lanzas".

There are also 5 Highly Commended Certificates awarded to local artists:
- David Fothergill "Piazza East"
- Leslie Gaduzo "Devil's Tower Road"
- Monica Popham "Local Light"
- Karl Ullger "Kokonut"
- Derek Duarte "Night-time in the Village"

The art works will be on display until the 16th August.

We took a look around our ongoing project in the centre of Main Street to give you a small update! The video exhibits only some of the newly implemented attributes that will feature in the rejuvenated building on 89 Main Street.

We have abided by government guidelines to maintain the same exterior for heritage purposes, however, the new interior will consist of a much more modern, contemporary design as we integrate the cutting-edge technology from our retail business into the rest of the building.

The progress had been stunted due to the pandemic however we are proud to announce our grand re-opening is scheduled to take place within the next five months!
