One of Corfu's most iconic views ⛪✈️

Not far from Villa Icarus, the beautiful Vlacherna Monastery sits on its own small islet in the lagoon at Kanoni. Dating from the 17th century, its whitewashed walls and unique setting have made it one of Corfu's most photographed landmarks.

The area is also known for the approach into Corfu International Airport, where aircraft often pass low over the lagoon before landing. The sight of a plane crossing above the monastery has become one of the island's most recognisable photographs and a favourite among photographers and aviation enthusiasts alike.

With cafés and restaurants overlooking the water nearby, it's a wonderful spot to enjoy lunch or evening dinners, take in the views, and watch the activity on the lagoon.

A swim and then lunch in Faliraki is a firm favourite of ours. 🌊☀️ Beautiful waterside restaurants, warm sunshine, the gentle lapping of the harbour wall, and the simple pleasure of watching the world go by.

Just 20 minutes from the villa and a short stroll from Corfu Old Town, it’s the perfect spot to combine with a day of sightseeing — slow, scenic, and effortlessly enjoyable. 🍽️✨

A short walk from the villa down the hill brings you to the coastal walkway along the sea wall, which connects Perama to Kanoni, where you’ll find a number of great local restaurants overlooking the lagoon, offering views over the Halikiopoulou Lagoon.

It’s also a perfect spot to watch the sun set behind the mainland mountains as the light fades over the water. 🌅

Tucked within the peaceful grounds of Villa Icarus, Icaraki — meaning little Icarus — was completed in summer 2025. 🌿✨

What began as an additional bedroom soon became something rather special: a beautifully self-contained little house, set quietly among olive, bay, and oak trees, with its own private terrace for slow mornings and long, golden evenings.

Positioned for privacy, yet still gently connected to the main villa, Icaraki is perfect for family or friends who want their own calm retreat while sharing in villa life. ☀️

Inside, bi-fold doors open the space beautifully to the outdoors, creating a seamless flow of light and air. Furnished to the same high standard as the main villa — with Coco-Mat beds and thoughtful design throughout — it’s a space many say feels like a hidden gem of the property.

With a sun-soaked terrace for all-day relaxation, and a shaded olive tree corner for quiet moments, Icaraki is made for easy living — from morning coffee to evening sundowners. 🍷🌿

About 40 minutes south, you’ll find the beautiful Paralia Chalikounas 🌊

🐚 A stunning, wide stretch of golden sand where the Ionian Sea meets the peaceful lagoon of Lake Korission. On one side, open waves and endless beach; on the other, calm shallow waters and a protected natural haven filled with birdlife. 🌿

We are proud to launch Icarus - 4 Bed all en-suite ( sleeping 8 ) villa - complete with new swimming pool.

A labour of love, we like to think Icarus is a home away from home, ideal for those wanting to be close to Corfu Town and the airport, yet easy reach of a host of wonderful beaches.

With views through the olive groves and to the mountains of the south of Corfu, the pool area enjoys full sun throughout the day.

We look forward to welcoming you to Villa Icarus.
