This weekend we welcomed 15 hikers from the Beljanica Mountaineering Club (Svilajnac, Serbia) 🏔️ here at Villa Yianna.
They spent two days with us, exploring the beautiful Mount Kissavos (Ossa) and enjoying the peace of Mesangala. 🌊☀️

Did you know that the magical colors of the sunset at Villa Yianna are thanks to a mix of nature and location? As the sun sets behind Mount Olympus, the light travels through more of the atmosphere, making the sky glow with extra pinks, reds, and purples ✨.

On clear evenings, a few high clouds or a gentle sea breeze can make the view even more breathtaking — turning the sky into a natural painting above the Thermaic Gulf 🌊🎨.

So every evening at Villa Yianna is not just a sunset — it’s a masterpiece from nature itself 💙.

🌿✨ 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒑𝒂 𝑵𝒊𝒌𝒐𝒔 & 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒊𝒈 𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒆 ✨🌿

Long before Villa Yianna, before the summer homes, the roads, or even the beach cafés… there lived 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒑𝒂 𝑵𝒊𝒌𝒐𝒔, one of the 𝒇𝒊𝒓𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒆𝒘 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 of Mesangala.

Right next to what is now Villa Yianna, he lived in a humble little room and planted a fig tree — a tree that still stands strong today, 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆𝒇𝒖𝒍 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝟔𝟎 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔. 🌳

He also grew tomatoes in his little “μπαξές,” and when the sun got low, folks from 𝑨𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒏𝒊 would stroll down to the coast for coffee and sea breeze. There was no crowd, no rush — just 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒉𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒎 𝒐𝒇 𝒍𝒊𝒇𝒆 and the scent of summer soil.

The fig tree still offers its shade and its silence — and if you listen closely, maybe you’ll hear the old stories hidden in its leaves. 💛
