Με σύμμαχο τον άνεμο και με βαθιά τεχνογνωσία που περνούσε από γενιά σε γενιά, ο μυλωνάς κατείχε κι αυτός τη θαυμαστή θέση του στον κύκλο των εργασιών γύρω από την τροφή.

To ανοιξιάτικο έθιμο της κούνιας αποτελεί μια από τις εντονότερες και αγαπημένες αναμνήσεις των κατοίκων των νησιών του Αιγαίου.
Στη Μάρπησσα της Πάρου, ανήμερα του Πάσχα και μέχρι της Αναλήψεως, τα ανταμώματα γίνονταν έξω από τα σπίτια. Οι νέοι του χωριού έφτιαχναν αυτοσχέδιες κούνιες. Τοποθετούσαν ένα γερό δοκάρι στα δώματα δύο κοντινών σπιτιών στα στενά σοκάκια της Μάρπησσας και από εκεί κρέμαγαν τα σχοινιά.

Τhe spring custom of the swing is popular across Greece and one of the most vivid and cherished memories of the Aegean islands’ inhabitants.
In Marpissa of Paros, on Easter day and up to Ascension Thursday, the encounters took place outside the houses. The young people of the village made improvised swings. A sturdy beam was balanced on the roofs of two nearby houses in the narrow alleys of Marpissa and from there tropes were hung.
