A short break at the end of May. The weather isn’t quite settled at this time of year but we couldn’t complain! Here is a photo from each day.

Wondering how to get to this magical island with its blue blue sky, to watch the sometimes peachy, sometimes pink, never-the-same sunset from our terrace over neighbouring Skiathos, to swim in the sparkling blue magnesium-rich sea and to enjoy our lovely house with its soft green front door and window frames....? Skiathos (next door island) has an airport with plenty of charter flights as well as EasyJet and British Airways flying in. From there it is a 30 min or less ferry hop to Glossa and a 15 min drive to our house. Or you could walk up the old cobbled path through a heavenly valley. Still some availability in June and even mid July - snap it up! Very happy to answer any questions.... (And if you have to wait an hour or so for a ferry from Skiathos - it isn't too hard sitting in a taverna eating delicious food and watching the fishing boats bob about! A lazy day at might start with opening the shutters to see the sea, a spot of yoga with the cat, finding a pristine beach, stopping for some lunch then heading back and hanging towels to dry amongst the olives enjoying the warm breeze, watching the boats go by, reading or snoozing in the hammock then rounding it all off with a swim into the sunset and live music in Glossa. Sunsets, pine forests, unspoilt beaches, walks, churches (you can have your own Mamma Mia moment)… our comfortable house has a pool, a garden and uninterrupted vast views of the sea. Anyone dreaming of an Aegean sunset? Warm breezes and herby wafts of oregano and fennel? Cooling down in the sparkling clear sea or settling to read under the olive tree by the pool? Our house is now available from early June until the end of July. Easyjet flies direct to Skiathos from Gatwick on Tuesday and Sunday, Tui flies direct from Gatwick on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, Jet2 flies direct from Stansted, Bristol, Leeds, East Midlands, Birmingham, Newcastle and Manchester and BA also flies from London City. From there it is a short ferry ride (15 - 30 mins) to Skopelos and a 15 min drive to the house. NB This is not the house to rent if you object to a 5 - 10 min walk from the road or if you have bad knees. If you are happy to walk, don't mind climbing up and down an old stepped footpath and like the peace and quiet of a village that doesn't have cars or motorbikes zooming through it, drop us a line! September brings gentle days, softer light, comfortable temperatures and easier exploring without the fiery heat of August. The island is quieter as the summer season gently draws to a close.

Holidays…time to read! A year or so ago we found we were overflowing with books here, either ones we brought or ones left by guests. So we installed another bookcase which has quickly filled. If you are coming and wondering what to read, chances are you will find something here!
