Why is our house called “Kamik”?
In the local Čakavian accent — one of the oldest dialects of the Croatian language, spoken along the Adriatic coast and islands — kamik means “rock.” The accent gets its name from the word "ČA", meaning “what,” a distinctive feature of local speech. Our home was built from this very stone, giving it strength and character.
