🚒⚓ A new project for safer seas and stronger emergency response.

We are proud to announce the signing of a contract between ISKRA Shipyard represented by our CEO Roko Vuletić, and the Firefighting Association of Zadar County represented by their president Željko Šoša for the construction of a new firefighting vessel.

The new vessel will be designed by Metal Shark and built to support firefighting and emergency response operations at sea, contributing to greater safety and faster response in demanding maritime situations.

This project is another opportunity to put our shipbuilding expertise to work on vessels with a clear and important purpose — protecting people, property and our maritime environment.

We look forward to bringing this project to life and delivering a reliable vessel tailored to the operational needs of the Firefighting Association of Zadar County.

The vessel will be used for:
🔹 Transporting firefighters to the site of a fire
🔹 Fighting fires on other vessels
🔹 Fighting fires along the mainland and island coastline
🔹 Transporting injured persons

⚙️ Key technical characteristics:
🔹 Length overall (LOA): 15 m
🔹 Hull length: 14.7 m
🔹 Overall beam: 4.7 m
🔹 Hull beam: 4.4 m
🔹 Draft: 1.35 m
🔹 Propulsion: 2 × Volvo Penta IPS950, 533 kW @ 2,500 rpm
🔹 Generator: Solé Diesel, 19.4 kW
🔹 Anchor windlass: Italwinch Starplus, 3.6 kW
🔹 Cruising range: 150 NM
🔹 Maximum speed: 27 knots

The vessel is being procured as part of the EU-funded project “RESILIENT ARCHIPELAGO: Development and Enhancement of the Resilience of the Island Area of Zadar County.”

🤝⚓ A new step forward for the Croatian shipbuilding and defence industry.

During the Rheinmetall Industry Day, Roko Vuletić, CEO of ISKRA Shipyard and 3. Maj shipyard Rijeka LLC , Alexander Singer-Bayrle of Rheinmetall Naval Systems / NVL B.V., and Detlef Schlichting of Rheinmetall Naval Systems signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing the foundation for future cooperation on projects for the Croatian Navy and joint opportunities in international markets through Rheinmetall's global sales network.

The Memorandum reflects a shared commitment to strengthening Croatia's shipbuilding capabilities and increasing the involvement of the domestic industry in future international naval defence programmes.

Following the recent acquisition of 3. Maj Shipyard by ISKRA Shipyard, this partnership represents another important milestone in our long-term vision to further develop Croatian naval shipbuilding capabilities and deliver competitive, high-value solutions for the defence sector.

♻️ Investing in smarter and more sustainable waste management ♻️

At ISKRA Shipyard, we continuously invest in solutions that improve operational efficiency and support our environmental commitments.

We have recently commissioned two new 10 m³ waste compactor containers, designed to enable more efficient collection and compression of municipal waste, cardboard, plastics and other recyclable materials.

The new units provide several important benefits:
✅ Significant reduction in waste volume
✅ Fewer waste collection and transportation trips
✅ Better control of odours and improved site cleanliness
✅ Prevention of litter dispersion and pest access
✅ Safer, cleaner and more efficient waste handling
