🤝⚓ Yesterday in Varna, we proudly marked another major milestone in ISKRA Shipyard’s long-term development journey with the official steel cutting ceremony for our new hybrid floating dock - delivery scheduled for spring 2027.

This important moment formally marks the beginning of construction on the largest single investment within ISKRA Shipyard’s strategic development plan designed to redefine ship repair and refit capabilities in the Adriatic.

Built at TEREM – Shipyard Flotski Arsenal – Varna and designed by Norden Ship Design House, this next-generation hybrid dock combines advanced engineering, sustainability and operational efficiency.

⚙️ Main technical characteristics:
• Total length: 115.0 m
• Pontoon length: 110.0 m
• Width overall: 32.4 m
• Width inside: 26.4 m
• Height: 12.4 m
• Max draft: 11.4 m
• Lifting capacity: 4,000 tons

The new hybrid dock, built from reinforced marine concrete with steel side towers, will combine durability, longevity and minimal maintenance. It will enable servicing of a wide range of commercial, passenger, naval and large yacht vessels, significantly expanding ISKRA Shipyard’s operational capabilities.

💡 This project represents a significant step forward in strengthening ISKRA Shipyard’s position as a modern, sustainable and highly capable hub for shipbuilding and refit.

🇭🇷⚓ At ISKRA Shipyard, today we marked the 35th anniversary of the first raising of the Croatian flag at the shipyard — a moment of great historical significance.

On May 5th, 1991, the Croatian flag was raised for the first time, symbolising courage, unity and the beginning of a new chapter.

This historic moment took place at the former Naval Repair Yard “Velimir Škorpik”, a military shipyard whose workers played an important role in 1991, marking the beginning of the establishment of the Croatian Navy and a new chapter in national maritime history.

Today, our employees once again raised the flag in remembrance of that moment — honouring the people, the legacy and the values that continue to shape our shipyard.

This tradition reflects not only respect for history, but also responsibility for the future we continue to build.
