Every great work has its muse. At Villa Lola, our inspiration has a name: Lola. 🐾

Our beloved cat wasn’t just the house mascot; she was the soul of the place.

It was by watching Lola explore every secret hiding spot, nap under the shade of the fig trees, and find the perfect sunbeam that we understood what this house should be: a sanctuary of freedom and absolute comfort.

Lola felt as much at home as we did—and that is exactly the feeling we want you to take with you.

There is something magical about the geography of Flengi.

Nestled in the heart of Istria, Villa Lola breathes a unique air. At times, the wind blows from North Africa, bringing with it the warmth of the desert and the scent of the sea, painting the air with a light you can only find here.

We are just 5 minutes from the charming town of Vrsar, yet tucked away in a private microclimate: here in Flengi, winters are more secluded and summers more vibrant.

The flowers bloom a few days later and in gratitude, they stay with us much longer.
It is a place where you can see Venice on the horizon on clear days and where the sun lingers, gifting us with the longest sunsets on the west coast.

Close enough to everything, yet hidden enough that the only sound you’ll hear is the rhythm of nature.

They say houses choose their owners. In 2005, what is now Villa Lola was a cluster of ruins, an old barn and the echo of rural life in Flengi.

It only took one step through the front door for the vision of what it could become to reveal itself.
It took years of patience. Between trips to supervise every stone laid, shifting plans, and containers full of memories crossing the ocean, the house was woven together.

In 2007, the walls began to breathe again; in 2008, the first coffee was served in the shade of the garden.

Villa Lola wasn’t designed as a rental, it was built to be a home. Every corner holds the care of someone who planned this refuge for themselves and today, we open our doors so you can feel part of this story, too.
