The Neighborhood
It's settled in a green area, just 5 minute walk from Maksimir Park, Zagreb's oldest public park and city's cultural heritage with five beautiful lakes and a big Zoo. There you can also find shops, restaurants, fast food (lots of kebab places), bars, free open-a
ir sports center (but I',m the fan of the jogging through 'Maksimir’). It's one of the most wanted living areas, due to its great location and surroundings - close to the city center but still in the peaceful and relaxing environment. Football lovers will appreciate the proximity of the Maksimir Stadium, which is primarily the home of Dinamo Zagreb, the top football team in the country. Getting around
Public transport is a 3 minute walk (or 1 minute if you run) where you can grab a tram or a bus. My choice is a tram (numbers 1, 9 or 17), which will take you to the city center in 10 minutes. If you decide to walk, get fit and get to know the streets of Zagreb, in 25/30 minutes of slow walk you'll notice the main square. Other Things to Note
And if you get hungry, you can try the traditional pie with cheese and spinach, prepared by your host or/and I can show you where is the best 'burek' in the city. Mmm... it’s a unique unhealthy but desirable meal, which best fits in the morning hours after exploring Zagreb night life.. it's really a nice surprise to find out how Zagreb is actually warm and safe city with developed social, cultural and fun content :)
