Tired, yet filled with contentment,
After renovating the old stone house,
Breathing new life into its ancient spirit,
We find ourselves in a state of blissful exhaustion.

Weary footsteps, but hearts brimming with joy,
As if we've traversed the depths of time,
The rejuvenated walls whisper tales,
As we awaken a sense of eternity within.

Sturdy stone walls, unwavering and strong,
Etched with layers of bygone lives,
The house stands witness to history,
Radiating a renewed brilliance of love.

Days of toil and restless nights,
Now behind us, like a fading dream,
Weariness merges with passion and endeavour,
Like the harvest of love, painstakingly reaped.

Laughter and delight echo within these stone walls,
As if the past has melded with the present,
Every crack filled with hope and promise,
Every nook exudes a resplendent beauty.

We are tired, yet filled with tranquil fatigue,
For we have revived the house, breathed new life,
Now we revel in peace and serenity,
With an enduring love for stone houses, forever proud.

At Villa Mara - Casa Rustica, we stumbled upon a magnificent piece of furniture - an old dresser that seemed lost in time. It was covered in a layer of dust and bore the marks of neglect over the years. However, rather than casting it aside, we made the decision to breathe new life into it through restoration. The dresser, once forgotten and forsaken, has now become a cherished addition to our home. The restoration process has offered us the chance to resurrect history, forge a connection with the past, and relish in the beauty of this exquisite piece of furniture that will endure for many years to come.

Vila Mara, smještena je u malom mjestu Žrnovo, samo 2 km udaljenog od grada Korčule. Kuća je temeljito renovirana s posebnom pažnjom posvećenom detaljima i organskim principima dizajna kako bi pružila jedinstveno i šarmantno iskustvo gostima.

Tijekom procesa renovacije vlasnici su usvojili organski pristup dizajnu te su stvorene prostorije koje odražavaju povijest i karakter kuće. Velika pažnja posvećena je detaljima i materijalima koji su korišteni u obnovi. Nedostaci originalne strukture postali su prilika za precizne intervencije, stvarajući prostor koji harmonično spaja staro i novo.

Izazovi rada s malom strukturom zahtijevali su pronalaženje pravilne ravnoteže između očuvanja tradicionalne arhitekture i uključivanja modernih elemenata. Tako je obnova Ville Mare izvedena poštujući tradicionalnu arhitekturu ovog područja od povijesne važnosti.

Rezultat: eklektična mješavina jedinstvenih aspekata – starog i novog, očekivanog i nepoznatog te konzervativnog i modernog.

The challenges posed by working with a small structure necessitated finding the perfect balance between preserving traditional architecture and incorporating modern elements. As a result, the restoration of Villa Mara respects the area's historically significant traditional architecture.

The outcome is an eclectic fusion of distinctive elements - the old and the new, the familiar and the unknown, the conservative and the modern.
