🌊 Lake Balaton named Europe's best family-friendly destination for 2026 🏆🌊

Hungarian tourism has received great recognition.

The Lake Balaton region has won the International Travel Awards' "Best Family Destination in Europe 2026" award. It managed to rise to the top in an international field where more than 120 nominees from 52 countries participated.

One reality, dozens of perspectives. 🤝📊

One of the biggest challenges is integrating data from different sources into a single, unified view, making different datasets and dimensions accessible side by side in a way that meets the needs of different users.

This is a necessary requirement for effective decision-making and operations.

However, it’s a complex process involving a lot of experimentation and, not infrequently, redesign.

Why isn’t the same single report enough for everyone?

Because every department focuses on a different horizon:

🔹 Owners focus on long-term return on investment and overall profitability.

🔹 For marketing and sales, data is not merely a set of campaign or conversion metrics, but rather a comprehensive analysis of demand, the competitive landscape, pricing strategy, booking trends, guest segments, and yield management.

🔹 Operations, meanwhile, need real-time data to effectively allocate resources and uphold guest experience standards.

In camping tourism, this “multi-faceted nature” is even more pronounced.

Nowadays, the majority of companies in the field of tourism no longer struggle with problems related to the volume of data.

The biggest challenge is that data is stored in separate systems with no communication between them.

📌 There’s one software for accounting.
📌 Another for property management.
📌 A third for distribution channels.
📌 Not to mention the one for revenue management.
📌 Everybody tries to find some kind of solution for competition and market monitoring.

Making business decisions without proper data management?

You can try, but it’s not really worth it.
The same applies even more to tourism and campsite management.

Data is a significant resource, providing a competitive advantage when used effectively. However, it's crucial to ask the right questions.

Multidimensional thinking is required, based on a well-thought-out problem map that takes the following into account:

📋 In order to gain insight into the operations of tourism businesses, integrated use of accounting software, property management systems, channel managers, revenue management systems, CRM, Google Analytics, Meta Analytics,, etc., is key.

📋 The data management system must be tailored to the user, which may be the owner, management, sales, marketing, operations, or housekeeping.

Viewing the data from the right perspective is particularly important because, in the case of campgrounds, a single property contains numerous accommodation types and many units within them, all of which have different characteristics.

📋A narrow, siloed perspective and the use of data and indicators without uncovering their interrelationships—such as analyzing and optimizing revenue without considering cost structure or without accounting for costs simultaneously in real time—are widespread issues in the tourism sector.

📋 Professional data management can enhance the guest experience while meeting revenue and profitability targets.

In cooperation with our partners, we are developing an integrated data management system that consolidates data from scattered, independent locations within the company, enabling informed decision-making at all levelsl.

Through this system, we will not only optimize our own operations but also provide support and advice to a wide range of other businesses.

This process is complex, filled with lessons and sometimes dead ends, highlighting that data management is more a leadership issue than a technical one.

🏕️ Jelentős mérföldkő.

A kempingturizmus a modern turisztika egyik legdinamikusabban fejlődő szegmense.

Az Eurostat 2025-ös adatai szerint az ágazat az Európai Unió teljes turisztikai vendégforgalmának több mint 13%-át teszi ki, ami évente több mint 413 millió vendégéjszakát jelent.

Éppen ezért különösen nagy megtiszteltetés számunkra, hogy a Magyar Kempingszövetség legutóbbi közgyűlésén a tagság bizalmat szavazott cégcsoportunk vezérigazgatójának, dr. Varga Katalinnak, aki elnökként a hazai kempingturizmus további fejlesztéséért dolgozhat. 🤝

Az eddig elért eredményekre építve a következő szakmai célok kaphatnak új lendületet:

🏗️ a kempingezés további népszerűsítése a vendégek körében;
🏗️ a kempingturizmus szakmai presztízsének erősítése a minőségi szolgáltatások nyújtásának elősegítése mellett;
🏗️ a Magyar Kempingszövetség még aktívabb szakmai szerepének kialakítása;
🏗️ a turizmus legújabb trendjeinek követése a fenntarthatóság megőrzése mellett;
🏗️ a tagok érdekeinek képviselete, szakmai támogatás nyújtása fejlődésükhöz;
🏗️ továbbra is részvétel a kempingezéssel kapcsolatos szabályozás alakításában.

A magyar kempingturizmusban hatalmas potenciál rejlik. A KSH adatai szerint a hazai kempingek 2024-ben 2,012 millió vendégéjszakát regisztráltak.

Camping tourism is one of the most dynamic segments of modern travel.

According to Eurostat data for 2025, this sector already accounts for more than 13% of the European Union’s total tourism traffic—over 413 million guest nights per year.

This is why it is a special honor for us that the membership placed their trust in our CEO, dr. Varga Katalin at the Hungarian Camping Association’s most recent general assembly, allowing her to work as president for the development of the domestic camping industry in the future. 🤝

Given the progress made so far, the following goals can be pursued with renewed enthusiasm:

🏗️ further promoting camping among guests as a lifestyle and form of recreation;
🏗️ strengthening the professional prestige of camping tourism while facilitating the provision of quality services;
