Recently, a running community in Bali went viral for the wrong reason.

Indonesian applicants said they were rejected, while foreign applicants were reportedly accepted.

The organizer later acknowledged that its approval system had created bias affecting some Indonesian applicants, apologized, and paused its activities.

Let me be very clear:

Bali welcomes people from all over the world.

But welcoming the world should never mean excluding Indonesians from spaces created on Indonesian soil.

This is not about being anti-foreigner.

It is about mutual respect. 🏝️🙏🏽
