Here’s a quick guide to some of the key parts of a ship:
🚢📣
1. Bow – The front of the ship, including the bulbous bow which reduces drag.
2. Stern – The rear of the ship.
3. Hull – The body or main frame of the ship, excluding masts, rigging, and other equipment.
4. Keel – The backbone of the ship, running along the bottom from bow to stern.
5. Deck – The flat surface or floor on the ship.
6. Bridge – The command center from where the ship is navigated.
7. Propeller – Blades at the rear that move the ship forward by rotating.
8. Rudder – A flat, movable piece at the stern used for steering.
9. Superstructure – All structures built above the deck (like the bridge, accommodations).
10. Anchor – A heavy device used to keep the ship stationary.
11. Mast – A vertical pole that supports sails (on sailing ships), antennas, or navigation lights.
12. Bulkhead – Interior walls that separate different sections of the ship, often for water-tightness.
13. Funnel – The chimney that emits engine exhaust.
Each ship type may have additional unique parts, depending on its design and function. Let me know if you want more details!
