She came from Sumba quiet, determined, and carrying a dream that had lived in her heart for years: to one day be part of Shelter island.
In June 2023, that dream finally took its first real step.
Atty began her journey in the service team, where she learned the heart of hospitality, how to listen, to move with grace, and to make every guest feel seen. The dining room became her first classroom, teaching her lessons about teamwork, patience, and the small kindnesses that make an experience unforgettable.
But Atty’s curiosity didn’t stop there. Soon after, she joined the host team, opening a new chapter filled with connection and confidence. From welcoming guests to managing reservations and leading garden tours, she discovered that hospitality isn’t just about service, but about creating moments that people carry home with them.
When Shelter Island opened, another opportunity arrived, and Atty stepped forward once again. This time, as part of the Front Office team. It was a new space, a new rhythm, and a new kind of challenge. From administrative work to guest relations and coordination with different departments, she learned how every little detail shapes the calm that guests feel when they arrive.
Today, as Front Office Supervisor, Atty carries with her everything she’s learned along the way, professionalism, empathy, discipline, and the quiet confidence that comes from doing what she loves.
She often says she feels lucky to be here, surrounded by supportive teammates and leaders who trust her to grow. But really, it’s not just luck. It’s the result of steady dedication, kindness, and the courage to keep learning, step by step, from Sumba to Ubud.
