We’re delighted to help spread the word for 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸𝘀 and his upcoming Film Awards fundraiser, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲, taking place in Ballinamore on 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟮𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿. 💚💛

Alan will be taking to the stage as part of 𝗙𝗿. 𝗧𝗲𝗱 at our upcoming Film Awards, and before that he’s inviting everyone to join him for an 𝟴.𝟱𝗸𝗺 walk/run over the Four Spikes of Ballinamore.

Leitrim School of Art

🧺 **NEW AT LEITRIM SCHOOL OF ART – WILLOW SKIB WEAVING!** 🌿

We’re delighted to introduce a **brand-new basket weaving workshop at LSA** – and this time, you’ll be learning to make a traditional **Irish willow skib**.

Skibs have a fascinating connection to Ireland’s rural heritage. Traditionally used during the potato harvest, their open weave allowed soil and water to drain away from freshly harvested potatoes as they made their way from the field to the kitchen.

Now, you can learn the traditional techniques behind this wonderfully practical basket and make your **own handmade skib from natural, locally grown willow**.

✨ **In this one-day workshop with basket maker Kate Burrows, you’ll learn how to:**

🌿 Work with natural willow
🧺 Build and shape your skib
🌿 Create and finish the rim
🧺 Discover the history behind this traditional Irish basket
✨ Take home a beautiful skib that you have made yourself

**No previous basket-weaving experience is needed** – just come along and enjoy a relaxed, hands-on day learning a traditional craft with Kate.
