First full week back to school for children across the country πŸ“šπŸŽ’

In Redclyffe, our families were getting ready for the new school year last week with our Making Change Coordinator and School Connect Worker. They spent the morning creating quick, healthy lunch ideas, preparing for homework, sharing tips for managing transitions, and developing some helpful timekeeping skills 🍎✏️

Wishing all children the very best of luck as they start their new school year. 🌟

We hope that all children the children we support who are living in emergency accommodation can ease into the new school year with the support, encouragement and stability they need around them. πŸ’›βœ¨

From a blank space to a path of possibilities 🎨

What once was a plain walkway is now bursting with colour, joy and imagination. Thanks to the creativity of the children and the guidance of our child and youth worker.🌈

Together they created and painted a path that more than just decoration, it’s a place to play, dream and feel safe. Every brushstroke is a reminder that childhood should be filled with laughter, colour and hope. πŸ’›

The rain didn't ruin the fun today in Baile An Aoire for our annual Summer BBQ. We had great food, delicious baking, fantastic music, singing and dancing and lots of smiles and laughter.
A big thank you to the staff for all the hard work that went into organizing it, Sr Jennifer for her baking and help on day, Bernard for his great music, Trish and Ciara for their help and most importantly all of our residents and guests who joined us for the afternoon.

πŸ“š Back to School πŸ“š

As we approach September and look forward to the new school year, we’d like to spare a thought for all the families currently living in emergency accommodation who are preparing for back to school.

Here at Good Shepherd Cork, we are supporting 102 children as they get ready for their new school year. ✏️

We’d like to wish all our Junior Infants and First Years the very best as they prepare for such an exciting milestone and another first. 🌟

To all the students heading into exam years, we wish you every success and hope the year ahead is a positive one.

And, of course, a warm welcome back to all our students and tutors as they reopen their doors in Bruac, our Education training centre after a well-deserved summer break. β˜€οΈ

If you are in a position to support our families in any way, please contact Ciara at [email protected].

Thank you for helping us make sure every child has the opportunity to start the school year with the support and supplies they need. 🫢
