Thatching has commenced on this 1840’s cottage in Malahide - thatched all the way up to 1947 (through the 1901 and 1911 Census), “ruined” for what was likely property tax deferral (houses without a roof were exempt), re-roofed by 1976 with asbestos slates and being restored to it’s former glory in 2022!
