As Bertie Ahern pulls out of St. Lukes, his neighbours unite to launch a sponsorship deal for the GAA.
On Thursday 7th June Drumcondra based Auctioneers, Kelly Bradshaw Dalton, launched their sponsorship deal of "The Club Bréfine" Cavan GAA Annual Golf Classic 2012, to be held on Friday the 29th of June in the Slieve Russell Hotel, Cavan.
Former Dublin footballer, Paddy Moran, a local accountant was on hand to launch the event.
"It's great to be part of a positive initiative. Vincent is a local Drumcondra man yet has not forgotten his Cavan roots. These are tough times and I wish Vincent and all the team in Kelly Bradshaw Dalton every success" said the All Ireland Medalist.
Both The Cavan County Board and The Cavan County team were strongly represented, as were many local members of the Drumcondra community and Club Breifne.
"We are delighted to have secured Vincent and his team in Kelly Bradshaw Dalton. Our aim is to raise €40,000.00 for the running of GAA in Cavan. So far we have up to 40 teams committed to play in the Golf Classic. A great day is in store and thanks to all in Kelly Bradshaw Dalton". Says Tom Reilly, Chairman of the Cavan County Board.
"I am only delighted to be associated to such a fantastic event. Kelly Bradshaw Dalton have a very large Cavan client bank and it's our way of saying Thank You. As for Paddy Moran, he is a Legend in Drumcondra." says Vincent Kelly, business owner.
PRO for Cavan County Board, Declan Woods, had this to say. " This is not a new concept, in fact, we are just relocating and re branding what was The Cavan GAA Supporter's Club's (Dublin Branch) annual fund raiser.
Club Bréifne is one of Cavan's GAA fundraising arms. Its goal is to raise much need funds to run the GAA in Co. Cavan while incorporating a social aspect. Anybody wishing to enter a team or sponsoring a tee box can do so by emailing [email protected]."
