Spiddal and approx 13 miles from Galway City. The cottage is typical of the houses built in the area during the 1940’s and 50’s. It has been recently full restored to accommodate

today’s modern needs but still retains its old charm and some of the original features such as the big open fire with two built in hobs either side. The fireplace was a very important part of every house hold in by-gone days as all the cooking was done there. The old iron crane which was used to suspend the kettle and pots over the fire for cooking is still preserved as a reminder of the pre electricity era. The house had a very warm cosy atmosphere with lovely views over Galway Bay to the hills of Clare and the spectacular Cliffs of Moher. It has its own enclosed garden which is made very private by the neatly trimmed hedge which surrounds it. Within 5 minutes in front of the house is a secluded sandy beach which is very safe to swim and often when the tide is out you will see locals still carrying on the age old tradition of gathering small shell fish such as Periwinkles, Mussels and Whelks which were a regular part of the staple diet for generations past. For those interested in fishing Inverin and the surrounding area is ideal for those interested in fishing from the rocks along the beach. The area also has many fine lakes and rivers to keep any fisherman entertained. A fishing school in the Spiddal locality is perfect for those wishing improve their fly fishing or spinning technique. The many quiet by-roads are ideal for country walks or cycling. Spiddal which is only about 5 miles away is a charming seaside village with many excellent bars and restaurants as well as wonderful scenic walks and beaches. Surrounded by lakes and mountains this is the ideal location for touring Connemara, Galway City, Aran Islands and the Clare coast. The property sleeps 8 with 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom, 1 toilet, 1 bathroom with electric shower
