Seems to be the hint of summer to come in the air today. The heritage town of Ardara with the Ardara Distillery is only 25 minutes away from Fuchsia Cottage, definitely worth a visit as well as Asaranca waterfall and the beautiful Maghera beach with its caves.

You may be forgiven for thinking that the lawn may need a mow … but a this time of the year I leave it longer between cuts as the dandelions play an important part in young hares diets providing fibre & nutrients. To watch a young hare eat a dandelion is a very cute and special thing. Also the native primrose and cuckoo flower grow in the lawn at this time. The cuckoo flower is important to the orange tipped butterfly for its larval food supply. Of course can’t forget the bumble bees which are thankfully prolific this year buzzing around fat & fluffy bouncing from dandelion to dandelion. So for now please mind the grass !

It’s all about the letter P on the Point at the moment, Partnering Up, Parenting & finding the best Property. The Point is one long maternity ward at the moment as life continues to spring forward in all its beauty. The Calves in the field next door never fail to entertain as do the lambs as they play in the field across the road. It’s a happy place. The birds are nest building and make use of the sheeps wool tagged on the fencing. Even the hedging and trees I thought may of been lost to the 3 storms are now while late are beginning to bud.
