📊 HOUSING SUPPLY UPDATE 🏡

The Central Bank of Ireland has revised down its expected home completion figures for the coming years, highlighting the continued pressure on housing supply.

🏗️ Updated forecasts now point to:
• 39,500 homes in 2026
• 41,000 homes in 2027
• 45,000 homes in 2028

The key challenge remains delivery time. Planning-to-completion timelines are now taking around 4 years on average, while delays in planning decisions continue to slow the flow of new housing to market.

Despite more than 100,000 homes having commenced since 2024, tighter near-term supply means demand is likely to remain strong across many parts of the market.

For buyers and sellers, this underlines just how important local market conditions, available stock and timing remain when making a move.
