A great way to kick off the long weekend ☀️

On Friday, we got the team together for a well deserved staff get together. With everyone spread across different sites and projects, it’s not often we get the chance to catch up away from work.

We attempted a group photo a little late into the evening, so quite a few of the team had already made their escape, but we managed to gather most of the crew, plus one unexpected guest who decided to jump into the picture! 😂

It was a great evening and a chance for everyone to relax, catch up, and enjoy the start of the long weekend.

A big thank you to our team for all their hard work and commitment throughout the year.

A quick look inside one of our Oranmore projects as we get ready to begin the next stage of energy upgrade works.

The interior demolition is now complete and preparations are underway for the renovation phase to begin. Looking forward to sharing the progress as this home takes shape over the coming weeks.

The Government has announced proposed updates to Planning Exemptions Regulations for residential properties in Ireland.

These changes are intended to reduce the need for planning permission for certain types of home improvements, while allowing planning authorities to focus on more complex developments.

Key proposals include:

🏡 A detached, habitable unit (32–45sqm) within the boundary of an existing home, subject to conditions

🏡 Subdivision of an existing house to create an additional self-contained unit

🏡 Increased exemption limits:
• Extensions from 40sqm to 45sqm
• Garden structures from 25sqm to 30sqm

🏡 New exemptions for certain roof alterations, including dormer additions

All developments will still be required to meet relevant Building Regulations, including fire safety and building control requirements.

These proposals are currently undergoing environmental assessment and will require Oireachtas approval before coming into effect.

Great progress on our Kiltullagh extension over the past week 👏

The walls are now up and the windows were installed yesterday, bringing the space one step closer to completion. It’s always exciting to see a project take shape so quickly on site.

Next week we are moving into our new factory in Kilchreest, and it honestly feels like a big step forward for us at Gleoite Homes Ltd.

We started out in 2023 working from a rented warehouse in Ballinasloe, kindly provided by Western Postform, and we are genuinely grateful for the space we had there while we got up and running.

We are 100% Irish owned and we always try to support local businesses wherever we can. It’s something that’s important to us as we grow.

This move marks the next chapter for us, giving us the space to keep building, improving, and moving things on in the right direction.

Thanks to everyone who has supported us along the way, it really means a lot.
