this is a great article by the always relevant Paul McNeive. This is personally very timely as we look to broaden our services. As the owner of a small letting agency and property management company, I have lost count of the number of times we meet landlords who have little or no information about the true costs associated with their properties, where the money goes and whether they are getting value for money. I think Jerome's venture has real merit and I'm sure his network will back him, my question is whether existing agencies would factor in his services in case they compromise the relationship by identifying errors and / or omissions. I would encourage OMCs to seek this type of advice or similar when reviewing their current arrangements.

Property management and service charges are sometimes regarded as a tedious part of the business, but this area has become more sophisticated, and making mistakes can prove very costly.

This is a super article, full of clear indicators that will resonate with landlords and underline just how important they are to the housing market. If the vast majority of smaller landlords continue to be penalized financially, then who knows the ramifications to the already dysfunctional system

Every landlord and tenant needs to familiarize themselves with the minimum acceptable standards, but more importantly, both parties should have a decent enough relationship to know what is reasonable and fair for everyone, so that they have an opportunity to reach an acceptable agreement that can be implemented in a practical and timely manner.

Rome wasn't built in a day, and if landlords and tenants could work together, they have a better chance of getting what they want with the minimum resistance, and having the peace of mind we all desire.

Some landlords are getting around rent controls by introducing fees for parking and bins, according to housing charity Threshold. As a result, a number of tenants are facing rent hikes
