this is a great article by the always relevant Paul McNeive. This is personally very timely as we look to broaden our services. As the owner of a small letting agency and property management company, I have lost count of the number of times we meet landlords who have little or no information about the true costs associated with their properties, where the money goes and whether they are getting value for money. I think Jerome's venture has real merit and I'm sure his network will back him, my question is whether existing agencies would factor in his services in case they compromise the relationship by identifying errors and / or omissions. I would encourage OMCs to seek this type of advice or similar when reviewing their current arrangements.
Property management and service charges are sometimes regarded as a tedious part of the business, but this area has become more sophisticated, and making mistakes can prove very costly.
